The story of perhaps the worst hacked client, capable of wreaking havoc on it's victims... A tale of hard work, war, cozenage, and betrayal. This is Minecraft's Deadliest and Illegal Hacked Client, Phobos. Heavily inspired by "Disrupt". More Credit and information about the video further down. Do consider reading:

-This video does not encourage hacking, DO NOT hack where hacking isn't allowed. It puts you at risk, and ruins the experience of others.
- All base information was taken through primary sources, with witnesses of the event being questioned

Hello! I've recently spoken to Crystallinqq AND Travis about the video and I would love to clear up some minsinformation regarding Phobos and it's story. If you have not watched the video yet, take everything with a grain of salt as several pieces of information were dramatized :p Some misconceptions to clear up: -Phobos was never released on github by Crystallinq, just the code was so it couldn't be sold -3arthqu4ke is the main developer of the client, to whom I apologize for not crediting him enough -A token logger isn't an exact addition of your email and pwd, it's a jumble of characters that let's you stay signed in to discord -The version of W+2 containing the token logger was never public, only (pretend) leaked to Crystallinq, who then got token logged by it. -Several of the clients mentioned weren't paid for, but private in the sense that they belonged to specific groups and weren't available to the public. Using Phobos, the group was able to obtain these private clients from the files of their users. Regardless of this I hope you still enjoy the video, it's a fascinating story that I hope you like learning about.

From the name alone, I assumed crystal aura was some kind of hack that somehow gives the player that uses it the properties of an end crystal. Like, anything that attempts to hit you causes you to explode, dealing no damage to you but heavy damage to your attacker.

The name is "end crystal" + "kill aura," because it auto-attacks enemies nearby like the kill aura hack, but uses end crystals since they have a ton of damage.

The biggest problem was that even though it was malware, they spent all that time making the client for a few seconds of fun. The lesson is if you find something too good to be true, research that something, you will never know how much it will save you from danger.

It is, it's a community full of scammers, bots, griefers, doxxers, cheaters and hackers that don't care about consequences. I played briefly, and in that short time I heard many stories of people being doxxed and hacked, it's why I stopped. On another note, there are so many highly exclusive and private communities hidden in the server for both fun and illegal activities, there's some good videos if you want to venture into that rabbit hole.

Some day I'm tempted to make a "hacked client" that just makes it so when you join a server it notifies everyone that you're a hacker so they get banned from every server. Might rid Minecraft of some cheaters. It would also have a few "hacks" that wouldn't actually do anything.

I remember CrystalQ was a super scrub weirdo back in the day. I helped developed and moderate a hacked client years ago. That kid was relentless in the Discord. Used to call him a skid cause he'd steal client code. (This was before the client had a GITHUB). I remember banning that kid over and over, he'd just get banned and make a new discord. Kid was foul asf.

Correction: Phobos wasnt "the best hacked client". Yes it had good crystal aura but what matters the most is the settings of the hack client and the player who controls it. If you had phobos that didnt make you a god at cpvp...

The most dangerous type of hacked client is one that actually gives what it says it will, the features that it advertises, and seem to actually be a good client. While you're satisfied with their product, they're stealing your info.

I've heard of things like this. And I also don't advocate hacking just to cheat on a game. Hacked gaming clients ask for hackers to help them cheat. So this tells me that even if they won the world records, they cheated just to earn such a title of new world record champions, so their world records should not count.

If they had enough knowledge to create a full hacked client and infest it with malware, I hope they were also smart enough to conceal their true identities so they don't get caught if the FBI decides to pursue it. However, since it's such a comparatively small thing, I doubt the FBI will waste resources pursuing stolen block game accounts.

One day I actually pissed off a hacker so he was telling me my personal information. I acted calm and just laughed at it, claiming they were wrong. I even called my brother and we both laughed at him, calling him stupid because he couldn't access even the right information. It seems we played it very well, because he gave up and after we changed all our passwords, we never heard of him again.
