Mini 2nd Generation (R56) Electric window squeak - FINALLY SOLVED!

Window's been squeaking for 6 years.
Initially used lots of grease, got in all over the window and everywhere so couldn't figure out how it could still be making that noise.
Fixed horrible sound when operating electric windows by scouring the outboard side of the runner channel until smooth and free from loose paint.

OMG! I thought it was the degradation of the flocked lining on the rubber window strip. I was about to buy two new sets and was looking for vids on how to replace them. I’ve had 2 minis now. My current one didn’t do this when I bought it. But... I remember the sinking feeling that day I got in and pressed the window button and hear the dreaded squeak, knowing it would just get worse and worse. I joke to everyone that gets in my car and hears it that ‘you have to pay extra for it to make that noise’ People nearby stare when they hear it. It’s so bad 🤦‍♀️ Thanks so much for this video 👍🏼

Grease round the bottom pulley (accessible through lower speaker cut out) finally did it for me - you make have to make several applications at various window heights.

This didn't work for me as there was no rubbing on the runner. What did work though was going through the same speaker, spraying silicone lubricant onto the centre of the pulley wheel shaft. A bit fiddly as the wheel is facing away from you so a bit of feeling around is necessary.

through the speaker aperture. there only one speaker in your door card

ive got a big problem, my mini cooper 2006 has two wires that come out of the door when pqnel is removed, both wt the bottom of the door itself one is for the light and other hangs closely to it and is for the remote locking, i have no idea where i connect the remote locking wire into i cant find a port or anything, can someone please help me

Shit I just sprayed wd40 down the window seal and successfully greased the windows 😂

nope the mini series of car with a uk history would ofc be left hand drive . pretty shocking that its right hand drive. must be a rare one

Very good with some help. But.... This video is totally crap! It doesn't say anything about how to access the speaker hole. What parts do you need to remove, etc... Is the speaker cover removable, or do you have to take away the whole panel?
