How to fix. First the entire assembly must be removed from the door, which takes quite a long time. See pelican parts website for pics and procedure of that.

In my case it was plastic “traveller”, that was squeaking against the rail. You must take out the speaker - rail and that white plastic part that sits on a rail can be seen clearly through there. White grease worked well.

Hi, I just made a comment about my own experiences in this matter, and came up with some fancy theories. But after some thinking I actually think this guy's advice is very accurate. I think the sound comes from a resonance involving the tensioner spring, and the frontal of the two "sledges" that supports the window. Probably the resonance comes from the lower part of the wire, when it becomes dry. So my advice is to go in via the speaker opening and lubricate well. Especially the lower wire, the one that is near the tensioner spring. And the video shows that the squealing stops when he lubricated the wires. In my former comment, I had som fancy ideas, but those will probably just confuse, so I removed it. Just do as the video says. :)

Thanks. Good know others are attempting to solve the problem too rather than just pay for an entire new assembly!

Well I've manage to lucubrate those strips with without removing the door panel. If you remove the windows trim, its gives you enough room to see and spray the wire channels, problem solved.

Do you have to remove the whole door card and window glass ?

4:47 You need to lubricate the cable where it rubs against the metal frame. Yes you need to get door card off, then remove window, then lastly the inner door panel off. First 10 mins of this vid: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nNqhqJp7ttfHm3k.html
