had mine replaced under recall which may have included some other work on the car besides simply swapping out FRM. The same day a check engine light came on ( P0141 02 Sensor Heater Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 2 ). Is there anywhere the dealers could have muddled that would affect this component?

My car wont start without a jump . Among other things can that b part of a footwheel module bc everything else is good ? Thank you .ugh i already paid 2 x to get my module unbricked . Its been over a year and they obviously are not interested in fixing the module recall .im about to picket at mini untill they agree to replace it with a refurbished one . Why is no one suing :(

Hey, i was accidentally holding my brake(around 10seconds) on my mini r56 and I got the crossed A for the start stop function and it stopped working it's like I turned it off accidentally, and I can't seem to find a way to turn that back on do you know how I can fix it?

Yesterday, on my 2011 R60, when I turned on the ignition, the fusebox on the passenger side started buzzing, and now the car is not running. Unfortunately, I experienced a water leak issue from the sunroof last winter. This was probably the problem that caused the malfunction. Additionally, a couple of weeks ago, my engine light came on with code P0087, which indicates low fuel rail pressure. I used Dash Command to log in and observed that the fuel rail pressure was around 400 psi. After erasing both pending and stored codes, it returned to normal at about 1000 psi. Do you think my footwell module has also failed, or is it related to failed fuses?

@@serdar6763 yeah I’d try swapping JBE. I found one from same model in junkyard and swapped it. Try to make sure it has all the same options/part number for ease of swap

Very good informative video. I thought it would help my situation where my automatic headlights and wipers don't work as they should. It's like the settings have been coded out when they was working before a battery failure. Now I have to turn them on manually and the wipers would continue wiping with no rain in sight. Anyone got any clues?

Hello I do understand you replace second hand FWM and I did same but back signal and remote door do not work open and close. Dealership can not Help recording . Didn`t you have any problem about same ?

Hooked up in the video I don’t usually disconnect the battery for much any more unless it’s a job that I know presents a threat to the electrical system and shorting and such

@@rj7008 disconnect ground first, then postitive Reconnect positive first, then ground last. Either way if it’s gonna fail it’s gonna fail. It depends on the car and module, I have 2 cars I can disconnect battery from and never have issues. Mine always wipes the frm out

@@zevisgarage How do you deal with the FRM issue when doing work on a customer's/friend's Mini and the job requires battery disconnection? Seems risky for all MIni mechanics. Just a thought for your Mini prone to FRM failure: Could you prevent FRM failure by wiring into the FRM circuit switchable power and ground sources (separate from car battery) to specifically maintain power only to the FRM when battery is disconnected for repairs and maintenance? Tricky electrical modification?

@@rj7008 yes possible. To be honest I usually just keep the battery connected unless the engine is coming out or if it’s a job that risks killing the ecu

I have one from a 2012 Cooper S hardtop non sunroof. I think sunroof is controlled by itself and not the BCM/FRM

@@tseals5248 look for one with same headlights as yours, heated seats if equipped, PDC parking sensors if equipped, sport, DSC/TCS, auto headlights, etc

Thanks for the video. Ive just replaced my clutch and all the front end subframe bushes and ball joints on my R55 Clubman, when I put everything back together I have the exact same symptoms, I'm presuming its because I disconnected the battery. Terrible car design...

What if the computer is on the other side ? (Passenger side ) Mecanic told me is that one the problem (have a mini 2011 59 k miles no accidents one owner. Al of the suden headlights won’t turn off, brake indicator on, check engine light on, AC blowing not hot or cold, turning lights or emergency lights won’t turn at all windows won’t go down. Mecanic told me is the Comintern module but is on the right side

If it’s the fuse box on the right side it’s the JBE Junction Box Electronics

@@zevisgarage it was the FCM but now I have another problem. Not sure if it’s because the ECM is not reprogram with the new FCM but the car shows check engine light and every time it’s a different code, performance has changed , after driving it 80 miles per hour for 15 minutes it starts making a sounds, I cannot charge speeds (it’s manual) stays on 1 or second.

In the video I show one method to fix the issue, which is replacing the module with one from another car with same options. I will have a video soon on different options to get it fixed other than just replacing it

I had mine reprogrammed and it worked for about 2 weeks and now my high beams and my back lights doesn’t work. Any suggestions anyone?

The irony is magically after filming this video a while later my reverse lights don’t want to work. I’m gonna reflash my original FRM to see if that will get it to work again

@@zevisgarage my turn signals in the front and rear are working and even my brake lights are working but the high beam headlights and my rear lights that supposed to come on at night when you turn your headlights on is not working so people at night can’t see me until I apply my brakes. Any Clues on how to fix it? Thanks

@@user-Spicoli check all the light modes to see if they turn on. If on auto it may do something with the ambient light sensor, although they doesn’t explain the high beams

Used part prices vary. Now a days I send them to my friend who reflashes them, it’s a much easier solution than trying to find the correct part number and get it to match 100%

@@Live_in_the_sunshine they usually lose memory. Sometimes they get water damage which is another reason they fail. But usually it’s lost it’s memory and it essentially blank, my friend reprograms them to work again

@@zevisgarage so reprogram if will work? Asking because mine didn’t get wet , I changed it (Mecanic) and everything work but then a week later check engine light came out again, can’t drive it 70 miles per hour, speeds won’t shift, stays on second speed only, performance it’s noticed.

Yes but there is no specified procedure or parts available yet. Also lots of years and models are not covered, including mine which has had the module fail 3 times

Pretty much accurate. I actually have a new FRM video in the works currently, with more info. I usually don’t disconnect the battery for most work, unless I risk hurting the sensors or ECU or other modules. When I do I currently disconnect the FRM as mentioned

@@zevisgarage I was really excited that the risk of FRM software corruption after battery disconnection may be prevented by removing the 4 FRM fuses or by unplugging the FRM. In addition, a very recent notice from Mini suggests that dealerships are starting free inspections and repairs on damaged FRMs.

Did your doors lock now? Mine started not locking. Key fobs or console. Reset multiple times. Got worse. Sent off to a company that tests and repairs them. Should have it back in a week. That’s the one thing I hate about these mini’s. Everything runs off a program. Good money for the dealer
