If the alarm indication flashes fast when you initially lock the car, and the interior light is on, even though the car is locked - one of the doors is not shut properly. It should only flash (pulse) relatively slowly even from the first moment it is locked. On an R55 (clubman) it can be the side door that isn’t latched.
