Yeah, the original one had been siliconed back together at the bottom where the PCV connects to the intake next to the turbo, but over time that silicone had started flaking and separating so the pipe was coming off. Genuine mini parts are around £90 so it’s cheaper to buy the silicone ones as a replacement as they can be bought for around £30-60 depending where you buy them from. As far as gains there is no power gain but maybe a slight increase in turbo noise.

@@adamlpatten Good to hear, have a crack in air inlet pipe on our Abarth 695 and the part is on back order for weeks, so was thinking of going the silicone way as well.

@@Abarth695Maserati I’d definitely recommend you get the silicone one, the quality is much better than the original, at least in my case, And I can’t see it failing any time soon.

​@@adamlpattenI have a tuned BMW that ripped several of the aftermarket silicone hoses apart. I even had Forge Motorsport make one for my car and two of those also were ripped apart. Went back to original BMW hose and it has lasted for three years now without leaking. This is just my experience with these types of hoses, I really hope you get lucky with yours.
