Mini Top Hat / Do It Yourself

Three beautifully decorated top hat; SNOWMAN'S top hat, SIMPLY FESTIVE top hat and CHEERFUL hat topped with colourful buttons. For the main material, we used black cardboard paper. What size circle is the brim and what is the width of the hat? Love this and am thinking it would be fun out of black felt

Hi Jane. As template for the brim I used a saucer with a diameter of 5.5 inches. Felt is also great in making this project. I tried making one using pva sheet for Humpty Dumpty which I find easier than cardboard. You may check it here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/n-CZgcd50Nu4k6s.html

Quick question. Can you do that with felt sheets do you think? Because I want a soft top had to sew onto one of my stuffed animals. Do you think it would stay up and still work?

Hi Ella, felt is perfect for stuffed animals project as it is flexible. Perhaps adding some fillers will help stay the hat shape. Happy crafting.
