We moved into our Chicago apartment less than 2 months ago, with less than 2 suitcases each! This is where our apartment is at two months in. We wanted to keep the space minimal, clutter-free, and functional, and to be very intentional about what we are bringing into the space. The apartment location is right in the middle of downtown, which has great views of the surrounding buildings!

For above the dining area how about a cage style pendant light that hangs quite low with a soft yellow light? That would help separate area and also create a bit of warmth and make a warm and intimate space for eating - tfs - wish you happiness in your new home 😊

I love your apartment. Light, bright, minimal yet cozy, and calming. I know you put the mirror there to cover that eye sore, but it actually brightens your space even more by reflecting all the outdoor natural light. I’m planning on moving to Chicago in a couple of years. Can’t wait. It’s such a gorgeous city with tons of amazing architecture, history, culture, events, and great people...I hope you like it so far!

Above the mirror where you can still see the vent you can place a draping plant to cover up the vent and let some of the leaves hang over the mirror 😄

I lived in this building on the 18th floor facing that parking lot. lol. I didn't like the view at all. I felt so closed in with all the big buildings so close. Glad you guys like it.

I live in Chicago (born and raised!) ☺️ I recommend this really cool coffee shop in Pilsen called Cafe Jumping Bean and there’s also a spot in downtown called Cafecito that sells Cuban coffee which is so delicious 😋

Love your apartment tour!💕 I do think the white couch is too large (and blocks the entry way of the living area making it look tighter and smaller. Instead, an area rug in the living area will “designate” the space just fine). Perhaps sell the couch and purchase a smaller sectional to be on the wall near the mirror. And then have a single accent chair or ottoman for additional seating. That way the area can be opened and appear larger. Your apartment is fabulous!

Born and raised Chicago. Moved to Las Vegas at 51 yrs old last September. Chicago people are the best around. I love my new home but the people are fake nothing like Chicago. I will forever miss home

Just stumbled upon this video and wanted to say you have a beautiful home! It’s so simple, but cozy and bright! I also live in Chicago and have moved to new apartments every year for the last four year so I know the stress of it 😭 what was the best way, that you found, to find unit in a high rise building like this? I feel like I’m always scrolling through different buildings, but never know if I’m getting the best deal.

Hi Nicole! Thanks for the apartment compliments! I worked with a realtor on finding the best price and fit in terms of my apartment. I worked with hotspot rentals which focuses on apartment buildings, and had such a great experience with them! I hope you can keep them in mind for your next apartment search!

I know I’m so late to this but I’m looking into moving into a high rise building. One of my main questions that I haven’t really seen anyone talk about is the following: how do you move in large pieces of furniture such as a bed or couch on a higher floor?? Like do they fit in the elevators? Will they have to be carried all the way up the stairs? If anyone has experience please let me know!💕

Freight elevators typically accommodate large furniture - but check with your building to verify.

Hi Michelle! I got my chairs from walmart (poly and bark brand) and I just got 2 other sets (poly and bark brand again) on Amazon. They are both out of stock, so i recommend keeping an eye out for the poly and bark brand. I bought the sets of two for about $280 (with tax) at walmart, and I bought the next set used from Amazon for $220. These were the cheapest on the market! Here's the link to my dining table: bit.ly/3wyEdUP I bought it for $197 in January, but I see the price has gone up. They have a few similar options on wayfair for cheaper so I recommend wayfair for your dining tables!

I love your apartment and everything but ,I really feel that it's still a bit cold.. I wouldn't feel comfortable or be relaxed in our apartment.. it's just too cold feeling but.. I love the view.. maybe can warm it up a little bit..

Yeah I get that! A lot of the elements of the apartment design like the concrete and white walls probably make it feel colder. In this season of life I am loving the minimal look, but I do love some warm tones and hope I can incorporate it down the road. Thanks for watching!
