Your children are really good at decluttering when they are working with you. The 16 year old has little in their box considering his age and school life and relationships he might have. Loved the video and always look forward to seeing a new video released on the channel.

We have thankful changed it 😆 I ordered batteries while I was editing part 1. We have double the amount of fire alarms as one set is connected to our security system. So we are covered. Part one through three were all recorded in one weekend. But thank you so much for taking the time to let me know 😊

I also think a memory box is so important for people's things! But I also try to go with the "use it or lose it" attitude from The Minimal Mom because I prefer having sentimental decorative objects in my home than any other decor (or minimal decor like you). So the metal ship that used to sit by my grandparents' front door now sits next to my front door, my grandmother's fancy rings are resized for me to wear (and I do wear them!), and my other grandmother's silk scarf gets worn on chilly evenings. So for me, your pregnancy towel would be used as one of my two towels (no dryer so I need two towels) because I always love large towels and it would make me smile every time I use it, and the sandwich maker would be in my kitchen so I can remember past sandwiches whenever making new ones. But obviously you should do what works for you, and enjoy your sentimental objects in your favourite way!

I love your channel. I’ve only been watching for two weeks. I’ve binge watched your older videos. You are becoming one of my favourite minimalists. Anyway I’m not at all sentimental and I find it so fascinating what you need to keep. I’m really looking forward to episode two and watching your kids declutter their sentimental items. 😊

Awww, thank you so much. That means a lot, and I really appreciate your support ❤️ You are so lucky, my husband and our 17-year-old are not sentimental either. I am so thankful my husband is the opposite of me. It has really helped me through this category. I am really happy with the outcome of this round of decluttering (in eps. 2). I now have a limit on the amount that I can keep. This is definitely an area in which I need limited boundaries. We want to make a video of where we started our journey, in the near future. I can't believe how much I used to keep 😄 I really appreciate your support and love hearing how others are with each category. Thank you 😊

@@MynimalistTribe My husband is not minimalist at all but he’s not a collector, only what might be useful. I would like to declutter further but can’t. I think that all my life I’ve wanted to get rid of things which puzzles me. I also like buying things and bringing new stuff in but my natural inclination to declutter prevents me fro keeping most of it. I’m now trying to buy quality but then again not wanting to spend a lot. Dualities!!!

I’ve got 4 kids and one box with stuff. We scanned craft books from school and photos, went from a shitload of stuff down to a memory bank😅. My dad kept everything like you are and honestly when I got it I was like, why dad why would you keep all this🤦🏼‍♀️ it’s the moment of the memories not the objects.

I just went through my last memory bin. I started with 4 of them back when I left home in my early 20's. Now no more bins. I have either integrated the memories into my everyday life and decor (like the 1 small Smurf figurine of Baker Smurf I keep in my baking supply cabinet to remind me of my grandparents who were awesome cooks and bakers and bought me most of my Smurf things I collected as a child) or they are in a couple of memory albums or I have said thank you and said goodbye. So freeing. My kids each have a bin about the size of the ones you use. It definitely helps when they are done with an item, but it's still special to them.
