Well, except when you entered the TINY room - OOOh No!!! lol At the end when Samson was kissing you it brought tears to my eyes because I just lost my 14 yr old dog Maya last week. Ahh, what a treat! August or September would have been amazing. I think you had the best time in Italy. If you have to go to Austria again, go to Salzburg instead of Vienna. It's a much friendlier city and I think it's b/c they have so many students there. I was born in Europe and the first (and last!) time I visited Vienna, it was so stuffy and unfriendly. Totally different vibe in Salzburg. Samson destroyed my heart. 💖💖💖

I loved this video. It brought back fond memories of my trip to Italy years ago. My favorite place was the Amalfi coast and having been there, I can honestly say that pictures don’t do it justice…and the people were so nice. I love how so many other countries are so dog friendly too. I recently spent 2 weeks in Hawaii and the dogs were everywhere ~ I loved it! And my dog was every bit as excited to see me when I got home as Samson was to see you. There is definitely a true solo trip on this 65 year olds bucket list 😊

Loved the vlog from Italy to Paris, but the best part was the welcome home. I confess I teared up when I saw how happy your baby was to see you.

Damn I can't believe I missed that one. Yes, they only serve bottled water in (most of) Europe. Hardy no free water here. I don't know why, since the water is save to drink in most places. Yes, Prague is one of the most beautiful cities here in Europe. I love to visit there. Oh yes, I haven't visited Florence yet. It's on my list for quite some time now.

I did my first international solo trip in August to Siena, Florence & Rome. I'd been to Florence & Rome before but Siena was new and it did not disappoint at all. I recognized some of the areas that you filmed in Siena. Glad you had a wonderful time!

Oh I had no idea you went to switzerland, I live there!:) Yeah everything is very expensive here beacause our salarys are accordingly hingher, witch makes it feel propotional, but as soon as you cross the border everything is so cheap compared to home!

Girl, I feel you. I live in Vienna. I‘m not going to make excuses for it. I literally get surprised how nice people are when I take a vacation outside of it. 🙄 That said, seeing the Vienna part of your video, I totally understand why you didn‘t like it. It seems like you went to Naschmarkt. I rarely go there myself because it‘s always loud and busy and dirty for me. What‘s sad is that you were just some stations or streets away from the pretty places similar to the ones you liked from the other European cities you visited. 😥 Vienna is a complex city where the mood can instantly change depending on the district you‘re in. If ever you decide to give Vienna a second chance, I got you. Hopefully with Samson! Hugs to you both from Vienna 🥰

Infrastructure, architecture, arts and amenities of foreign places fascinate me and if the people's attitudes and actions are welcoming at best, non-problematic at least, traveling solo would be a win-win for me. I can be too conscious of my otherness and the ways in which my wellbeing can be exploited and put at risk. Brava to you for sharing

Loving this! I have travelled many places and Switzerland is BY FAR the most expensive place I've ever been...more than double London prices! But like you said, a beautiful country. The water thing is a bit of a scam...you can ask for tap water but if you're asked whether you want still or sparkling, most people think there is no other choice or feel embarrassed to ask for tap. The smallest hotel rooms I stayed in were in Oslo, Denmark and Edinburgh and Croatia (the one in Croatia was just enough, I really admired how people had a sense of what was just good enough. Absolutely no room for anything unnecessary. Something very refreshing about that. The hotel in Oslo was so small that there was just enough room to walk inside with a suitcase. I couldn’t stay in the room for long unless it was to sleep because it gave me anxiety. One shower in Denmark was so small and made no sense to the point where I washed up in the bathroom sink instead. Thank goodness for space in the US!

funny to hear that Berlin, Prague and Vienna are considered on the Eastern European side, I know what you mean but each city claims to be geographically and culturally Western European or at least central :) But totally get what you mean. All these cities are amazing, have lived in all of those three and a few years in Vienna. I can understand that you had a bit of a rough time with people in Vienna, they are a bit unique and you have to understand the mentality. It might take some time to get used to them as a non-European. I guess you have been mainly in the touristy part as well, where service providers are generally rude, I have experienced it as well. The normal population there is awesome in my opinion and after living there for 4,5 years, my heart will always belong to this city ❤
