Really good pads. These are race-type pads (vs. the ceramic embedded Red pads or the Green Performance Street). They have really good grabbing power even when cold.

I liked all the greasy fingerprints all over the brand new rotor.

From the Bentley Service Manual - page 340-19: Rotor to wheel hub (Torx M10 x 13) - 20 ft lbs - 27 NM, Brembo brake caliper to sterling knuckle M12 bolts (110 NM - 81 ft lbs). The Bentley manual recommends replacing the rotor bolt and caliper bolts with new. We didn't do that here since we were planning other work to these brakes well before the next service interval.

Slot direction and/or hole pattern does not indicate rotation on brake rotors. Some manufactures slot their rotors one way, some go the other. The only thing that IS important with vented rotors is whether or not the internal cooling vanes are directional - on these particular BMW OEM JCW rotors they are not. These rotors have radial cooling vanes which come out of the center like spokes on a wagon wheel - they do not tilt in a particular direction (you can see this starting at 5:15 where the edge of the new rotor is shown with the caliper in place).Therefore, they are not sided and so either can be fitted to whichever side you want. As far as hub runout goes, on a car with this low mileage where the rotors are being replaced it's a non issue without any judder. If we meant to keep the old rotors and there was measurable run out on the disc we may suspect hub runout, too - but with no issues at the brake pedal there's nothing to check.

Yup - these discs/rotors for the JCW are not directional. You get two of the same disc and so can be mounted either way
