I think the TimeOut is great for two people and for multiple days in the same spot. I always was concerned at how long the bed area and everything you have stored could get rained on while setting up or taking down. I'm mostly solo on trips so, after much looking at all trailers and searching, I went for a Mini Mate. Excellent decision for myself. Good comparison video.

I agree. You make some more good cons for having the minimate. I just needed something that I can weekend camp with the wife. Hopefully no rain with the Timeout. 😂 She’s mostly into hoteling it.

Yeah. Timeout has a lot more room in it. Less in the trailer storage but the totes on the top of it help a bunch. Happy camping.

Leave the valves on your mattress open for about an hour and it will continue to take more air. The longer it has been rolled tight, the longer it takes. Especially if you are in cold weather

Major negative with the timeout as you can see in your video is if it is raining everything inside is wet. The Minimates you can set up without getting everything soaked in addition the Minimate has better storage that you can access while it is closed. The build quality is much better on the mini mate as well.
@canyoudigit37092 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your input. I tend to agree. The tent on the timeout goes up fairly quickly but if it’s pouring rain your stuff will get wet. I’ve not had to setup in the rain with either one yet. Hopefully if I get to a campsite with it raining I can sort of wait it out.

I’ve had the time out for over 3 years now and love it. Ours came with airmattress and I have gotten where I can set it up myself on average 4-5 minutes same with tear down. Since I did this I have found the minimate has more storage than the timeout but you can strap some totes on top of the timeout to make up for it. The timeout is more of a couples camper. Minimate for solo trips. There is a motorcycle camper sell page on Facebook. If you want a link let me know.

There are a few times when you are showing the mini mate and you say “now this Timeout”….but you mean the mini mate. If someone doesn’t know it can be a bit confusing. If you can add a text that says you meant Mini Mate, that would clarify. Not important to me but maybe to others that don’t know the difference. This a great, useful video and you did an excellent job. Thank you.

This is nut. £5k for a tent you have to store in the trailer and then build. I could get a 4.1 arpenaz walk in tent and a double camp bed and down duvet in the bottom of the minimate. The timeout looks like an expensive waste of time. You could just pull a regular trailer store a huge tent in it have loads of space left to store other stuff in the trailer as well as the tent and it would setup in the same time as the timeout and cost about 1k. I see benefit to the minimate i see none for the timeout.
@canyoudigit37096 күн бұрын
I agree. I sold the timeout and kept the Minimate. 😂
@gcragg11 Жыл бұрын
They’re both huge failures as far as I’m concerned.They take way too long to set up for our liking. The timeout is just ridiculous. I couldn’t imagine setting that up on a rainy night when you run as long as you can and then just pull over somewhere to sleep. What a pain in the ass that would be. We currently have a bunkhouse… which we love. In LESS than a minute… you’re done. I mean … inside …dry and warm sleeping. But if we decided we needed more room (For whatever strange reason) I would definitely pass on either of these two and go straight to a Excel II. Good job on the vid though. Thanks for posting.
