And there's these beautiful shots of like, 16 year old margo wondering around the huge spaces that usually hold all the minions as she wonders who she is going to be when she's an adult. Edith wants to be a supervillain even though her dad left that life behind. Agnes grapples with still liking childish things like unicorns while other kids around her are growing out of them. For me, the best part of the movie was the audience. When I was in the movie theatre with the enormous group I went with, there was another equally gigantic group at the back who would clap at anything whatsoever like when the minions showed their ass or at any point where Gru was on screen. The less funny it was, the more they’d clap. And during the scene where the old man goes home and sees that his house was destroyed, one of my friends pointed out that he should’ve seen that the house was completely destroyed from the outside and didn’t need to open the remains of the door to see it. I laughed for about twenty seconds at this realisation.

But Diregentleman, a bunch of quirked up white boys with nothing better to do dressed up in suits and saw this movie ironically/ un-ironically or something. That makes it good

I saw this ironically with some friends (yes, we were all in suit coats), and we all thought it was a terrible movie.
