@SergiobgEngineer
@SergiobgEngineer 5 жыл бұрын
I just think there was just too much at stake to allow them to play to win every single match like they would have done in normal circumstances. Carlsen clearly knew he had the upper hand in shorter time formats and caruana didn't have the balls to bring the fight to carlsen, honestly. If you are the challenger, then you should go for the guts and they just drew on purpose so many good positions. Many times going straight into late game with a bunch of trades. The regulation also didn't leave wiggle room for experimentation as well. They were both shackled.
@crbrearley
@crbrearley 5 жыл бұрын
Mostly the last two WC matches have convinced me of the wisdom of the old rules: in a draw, WC keeps crown. You should really need to win against a WC to take the title. Caruana is a fabulous player and did very well. Don't think he's being shown enough respect for what he did although I also believe Magnus has been in a (for him) funk that he seems to be coming out of.

But of course, it doesn't mean he don't find the win anyway, just with more moves. And as long as there is no extrapoints for quicker wins, it's just a question of aestetics :)

I really wonder why Sergey risked such a very sharp line with white against Magnus in such a shape? Of course its playable by theory, but its very difficult to play on the board as you have to play very very accuratly with the white pieces where for black there is quite a straight forward plan. And as seen in the game, slowly but surly (too) many Queen moves even back to it's starting position, totally against any basic chess rule anyone is telling you. And in the end, it was proven in only 39 moves why its a basic general chess rule. Impressive nevertheless and to be honoured too, such nice games can only exist if both players are out for risking something, so most respect to both of them.

The good thing is that Magnus' Preparation was not all that bad at all as often criticized and on the other hand Fabiano's responce was always good enough to (mostly) draw in a secure way - so that also put's the last WC on it's right level (what many experts were saying already at the time, but now we get more and more examples to their opinion).

I can never understand people who dislike videos😂 I mean there is nothing to be disliked about this video what did they not like about it? The match actually happened.

Well, you're not disliking the game, you're disliking the video. Although I too think most of them are just auto-dislikes by people who don't like carlsen or agadmator for some reason

@@gabrielefiappo813 i see dislikes on all videos so its not about carlsen.. and what is wrong with agad? He's awesome bro and doing nothing wrong, just promoting a game.

The result from the experiments to go into Carlsen's world championship preparation shows how great and balanced were the players in the world championship and their preparation.

The sicilian is alive and well in the hands of Magnus. He fits well Kasparaov's shoes. I've been lucky that in my life time I have been able to enjoy the play of , Tal Fisher, Karpov ,Kasparov and now Magnus.

A small, but important correction: This is the sixth edition of Shamkir Chess/Gashimov Memorial. Mamedyarov won in 2016 and 2017. Carlsen did not participate those years. Great video!
