Alton brown on Food Network did a test, measured amount of oil, french fries(he double fries), he cooked them up then measured out how much oil stayed in the fries... enough fries for 4 people and they held 1 teaspoon of oil after draining, drain on a rack in a sheet pan for really crispy fries!

Also if you could go a little more in depth on your retrieve, maybe explain what your wanting the bait to do. Like stay close to bottom and such. I really suck at using lures especially swim baits and would like to get me some walleyes

You need to blanch the fries by taking them out from the oil let stand and cool off then put them back in the oil to finish. That makes them crisp up. What blanching does to make them crisp I dont understand. Air fryer is a different story
