I was actually excited to see what Darnold can do in a good environment as a clear starter, but now I'm even more optimistic with JJM. JJJ is such as good security blanket for the rookie, he's got a good coach, plus it's a similar system as he had at Michigan. Vikings go 17-0 with their first Super Bowl.

Not a very strong arm. Not very accurate. His delivery is very very slow. His foot speed is average. Not a fast runner. Takes a shockingly long time to read defensive coverage. He will be back up for a year or two and then the Vikings will have to cut him.

McCarthy looks better than most QBs from the draft. His highlights he is going through reads, he doesn’t have Wide receivers with 20 yards separation in blown coverage he is going through reads and hitting the guys in stride.
@Obeify
@Obeify Ай бұрын
@@BoopyGooseI can tell you like to speak in hyperbole. I watched the first 20 clips, which was right at halfway through the video. There was 16 pass plays in though 16 pass plays 2 of them his receiver had more than 3 yards of separation. In one of those it looked roughly like 3 yards and in the other it was about 5 or 6 yards in the other 14 passes the defender was within 2 yards in most cases barely out of arms reach of the ball. Lets assume that rate is doubled through the rest of the clips that would mean out of potentially 50 pass plays maybe 8 of them are to a wide open man, where as that’s every single play in a Caleb Williams highlight Edit: I watched the entire video back, there was 7 total passes where the receiver had 3+ yards of separation and an 8th where the receiver had to stop for the ball otherwise he should have had 3 yards. There was only 1 play with 10 yards of separation and actually literally 0 with 20 yards.

@@MrBacchus18 Watch again and compare both arms..McCarthy has an arm like Dan Marino and John Elway.. There's no 2nd guessing, no hesitation, no apprehension. 1 - The kid throws with hot sauce.. 2 - He came out of Michigan. 3 - He won the College Super Bowl. 4 - He was coached by Jim Harbaugh 5 - In addition to playing football, he grew up playing hockey which moves at a higher velocity than football thus one has to be quicker on the feet, assess, think and execute much faster and take the hits along the boards. ( I played ice hockey growing up in the Northeast when I was a kid) I don't know Maye's background, and I don't watch college football, however from I've seen here on Y/T, I think he's overhyped Forget the polling.. Brady smashed that into oblivion forever going in the 6th round. If Daniels and Maye weren't around, McCarthy would be a first round contender.. Just my 2.5 cents..

I could stand back there and make a throw if I had to with that much time. This dude goes to the NFL, he's gonna have 3-4 secs at best to make a throw. @@DeputyDong420 what faulty logic. If Tom Brady could win a game throwing 0 passes he would have done it. And if Michigan goes undefeated with a strategy you can’t criticize it. What important is what he did with his ops. And McCarthys split stats are great. Best QB under pressure, 2nd fastest arm (would be third faster of all active players in the NFL), 4.45 speed, great accuracy, natural born leader, minimal mistakes in the splits. Maye is 1 inch taller, and throws 1MPH faster. Nothing makes me think I’d rather have 3 less 1st round picks and Maye, vs all those picks + McCarthy. Sure if both are available at 11 I’d take Maye with a minor edge. But that’s not reality.

If McCarthy stayed another year he'd be the first overall pick in 2025, plain and simple. Literally only 21 years old and he's gaming like this. You can see he isn't just ad-libbing out there, he understands where the play is going and super poised. Washington needs to make him the second overall pick. Jayden Daniels will be injury prone and there are so many questions marks surrounding Maye.

Jj mccarthy is the tom brady of our current era. He might not be a crazy triathlete but he is smart and calm under pressure. Caleb Williams definitely has nothing on him besides rushing, which is not as useful as a smart quarterback in pocket that knows what is the best move in play. Many of these throws with mccarthy being patient would have been rushes from caleb Williams because he can't think fast enough to know the best play in pocket before buckling under pressure.

Caleb Williams may be good but mccarthy gives me Tom Brady vibes with his very smart and quick problem solving, followed by perfect execution when he finds the best solution. Caleb Williams is good on his feet but the problem with a quarterback like that is they're quick to move out of the pocket rather than hang back putting trust into the offensive line allowing for a pocket to open up that is a better play than running it and throwing a good pass play out of the window. Michigan had a fanominal OL letting mccarthy do his thing and put the ball where it needs to go. Caleb Williams moves too much in the pocket when not necessary causing his blockers to not know whether he is gonna run it out of pocket or stay in pocket keeping the blockers from making the right play. Qb rushing is fine but taking more time to stay in the pocket well you trust your OL letting them do their thing is almost always better than hugging the ball and deciding only you can make a play not your guys out their creating pockets you can put a bullet pass into.

@@R00sterf1sh delusional? Chicago has DJ Moore, Keenan Allen, Cole Kmet, Deandre Swift, and they bolstered the O line as well. This doesn’t include the massive leap the defense made in the second half of the year when they traded for Montez Sweat. And they’re going to get even better with whomever they pick at 9. Vikings are hanging their hats on an aging Aaron Jones and Justin Jefferson who’s currently holding out. Bears were two games out the playoffs without all the pieces they added and now they’re getting even better.

@@itisnottaken4444 Jefferson isn’t holding out.. and yes, you rifled off a bunch of mediocre players. Sorry to burst your bubble. Vikings have Jefferson, Addision, Hockenson, and Chandler. Every one of those is better than the subsequent player on the bears. Vikings have better tackles, better guards, bears have a better center… Viking have a better coach. GMs seem too early to tell. And the bears run pedo rings in their office, have coaches arrested mid season. Ship off QBs that they try to tout as the best thing since sliced bread until the next draft. We’ve heard this continually from bears fans. Ooooh Mitch Trubiskty, ooooh Fields, oooooh Williams, ohhhhh cutler. Ohhhh Kyle Orton. Bears franchise sucks. Oh god. As a Bears fan. We are done. Caleb WOULD be a HOF on 31 teams. No fault of his own. He will be a bust. Just because its the Bears and the McCaskeys.

Honestly he seems like a young tom Brady by his quick and smart decision making on the field. Not a triathlete at all but smarter and faster in his mind which is always far superior to freak athletes that can jusr rush and juke the defense well. Mccarthy stays very calm well reading the situation quickly, finding the best solution to the circumstances followed up with an accurate pass right in pocket. Brady had a gifted throwing arm paired with a quick mind which understood football very very well.
