Mars Attacks was ahead of its time. It is a 90s B movie and a lot of fun. Still enjoy it to this day.

Watching my grandparents laughing at so many scenes is enough for me to say it was worth renting the VHS tape. I think it's time for Burton to make "Dinosaurs Attacks!"

Maybe I am just demented, but I thought it was like a slapstick comedy in the lines of Airplane The Movie and The Naked Gun: Files From Police Squad

Probably one of the best passion project films ever. And the cast is just outstanding.

I saw this movie in the theater and everyone had a great time. Had no idea it was a boxoffice bomb.

This was always one of my favorite Burton films. I saw it multiple times in the theater. The absurdity of it all was just fantastic!

The fact that the Martians' downfall is Slim Whitman yodeling "Indian Love Song" is pure genius! I think I double-snorted my drink the first time I saw this movie and Gram's headphone got disconnected. I still chuckle thinking about it...

Definitely one of the all-time great underrated comedies. The burning stampede was hysterical. Ack ack ack ACK ack ack! AAACK!

For a movie that came out in the mid 90s the CGI was top notch

I will always love Mars Attacks!!! The nursing home scenes were filmed in my hometown....and the building is still there to this day.

I think with it coming out after ID4 was perfect because it unintentionally lampooned it so well. I saw this movie three times in one day! I never understood why it failed.

This was one of my dads favorite movies, I remember we had not heard of it until it was already on VHS.

Don't forget the music; that is one of my all-time favorite movie scores. It's cinematic, bombastic, and cartoonish-complete with a theremin as the key, lead instrument.

I saw this when it came out. I thought it was BRILLIANT! I couldn't understand why it wasn't more popular and to this day I like showing it to people because it always gets a laugh. All these great actors. This one is definitely a classic.

I have always loved this movie saw it back in the day and still watch it from time to time.

I was like 10 or 12 years old when my dad took me and my brother to see it in the theater and it left an impression on me forever. At first, I was actually scared by it, but by the time it was on VHS, I became observed by its unusual style. The mere fact that every Hollywood superstar was killed off was revolutionary and that the cgi actually still holds up is mind blowing

I will forever love this film. I did grow up with it as I was in my early teens when it came out and watched the hell out of it. It always made me crack up but I knew there were a lot of people that just didn’t get it.

I watched this as a kid and didn't understand some of the finer details, but I loved it. Watching it as an adult it's hilarious, and has so many celebrities!

It's fun seeing those famous celebrities acting clueless. And that art work of the Martians in the B movie style. My favorite part is the Martian Girl scene 😅

There is no way to list all of the hilarious gags in this movie, but one of my favorites is the aliens lounging around their spaceship, in their Tightie Whities.

The burning cows were an excellent addition to show the Martians' glee at random violence and chaos. Glad that stayed in despite all the arguments.

I had no problem at all finding the punch lines. It was hilarious!

I first saw Mars Attacks back in the VHS rental days. When I watched it at home it finally struck me that when I was a kid in the 60's I had just a handful of the trading cards before they were yanked off the market. Wow! I had completely forgotten about them. So to me it's a Fun Sci-Fi farce that I'm glad to have in my own collection and I've watched it again many times..

My wife and I were lucky enough to be invited to a test screening, and we absolutely loved it! And the rest of the audience were very loudly in support of it, as well!

I saw Mars Attacks in the theater and was blown away! The fact that it flopped is a downright tragedy. The concept of the government being run by oblivious buffoons was hilarious to me. Who would've thought that Mars Attacks could predict the future?

I love Mars Attacks. The colorful cast of characters and special effects. Some of the scenes could've had better comedic timing and pacing.

One of my all time fave movies and yes I “got it” the very first time I saw it…when it ran in the theater! It is indeed a “Masterpiece.”

My best friend and I were one of the few that saw this in an opening day matinee. BUT, by the end, we all were laughingly enjoying every second of this gem! I miss those days...

I met one of the special effects artists for this movie at a carshow why back in the day. He had attended Ringling school of the arts in Sarasota Florida (where the carshow was) and he was now teaching there. He had a white/white/black mid ‘90s Saleen Mustang convertible with a speedster cover. It even had matching white wheels. S281sc. I later owned one of those cars in triple black in the early ‘00s.

I would like to see a R rated serious version of Mars Attacks!

I love that you point out the TV dinner scene as particularly funny, which I totally agree on! What even lifts it up further for me is that it is very probable that some families found themselves watching the movie while eating their dinners in front of the TV looking dumbfounded into the mirror their TV screen has become for a few seconds and not even realize what just happened 😂

This film came out when I was in college, and after graduation I worked at a job that had HBO on a TV in the lobby pretty much 24/7. Mars attacks was in heavy rotation by then and I caught bits and pieces of it over several months. It was at least a year before I actually sat down and watched it all the way through. Excellent film on several levels, and has aged well compared to some of the other films from the period. Will always be in my top 10 thanks for breaking it down for us!

This film is amazing. It's a true masterpiece, the cast, the FX, the writing. It has aged very very well.

Mars Attacks was great fun. I don't know why people would look at this seriously and not just enjoy it for what it is. I watch it at least once a year.

This movie is brilliant. I grew up watching all the low budget 1950’s and 1960’s sci fi movies. This movie was a perfect homage to those movies.

When this came out when I was a kid. I didn't want to go, but my dad stated that I would most likely love it. He was correct. I cracked up a bunch and still one of my fav "stupid comedy", as my wife puts it, on my list.

American here...I loved this movie from the get go but knew it was not going to work. I found it hilarious and totally got the B movie ethos they were going for but my wife just didn't get it and thought it was dumb and unfortunately my kids were just a tad bit to young and the movie just a bit to violent for me to share it with them. When everyone got older it turned into one of those movies that all us boys never tired of and for many years was our go-to thanksgiving day movie.

I have a special place in my heart for this movie. Oh, nostalgia.

I read once years ago that there was an idea for a sequel that now Earth would attack Mars using the martian stolen tecnolgy and the last aliens captured were in zoos, would escape to tell their homeworld. If course as It was a box office failure, It was imposible for any sequel Thinking a bit, a little like Starship Troopers...
