My husband and I were among the first guests at The Mirage when it opened. It was so beautiful, we kept going back for special occasions. I adored seeing the Sigfreid and Roy Show! The animals were so so beautiful. Our 50th wedding anniversary is coming up in 2030, and we had really hoped to be at The Mirage once again. A beautiful, iconic place that I wish could be maintained and loved for many more years.

Mirage closing in July 2024, transforming into Hard Rock Hotel & Casino

Very sad to hear this. I stayed here in September 2022 and learnt the hotel was up for sale. Can't believe it'll be no more. I remember in August 1988 I was 11 years old visited Las Vegas 1st time from UK and saw the construction of The Mirage. Came back in August 1991 and saw it and was very impressed and said to my dad will we ever stay here. Been to Vegas 6 times in my life and finally got the opportunity to stay as my friend suggested. was to be right choice and glad stayed there. RIP The Mirage 1989-2024

This was a change of plans, which originally called for the resort to remain open throughout the construction project. The decision to close the resort was made to expedite construction.

So, besides another CVS or Walgreens, what will make this place so special?

What are the going to do with all the Animals? And Salt water fish? And Dolphins? Lions? Etc. There not saying anything about them?

Still not a bad hotel, yet as of mid-June 2024, many of the gambling machines are disabled and restaurants closed several times per week.

Hard Rock is taking over.

Mirage was our home away from home. So personable. Seriously MGM! You took away a soothing water falls with its beauty and comfort so hard rock could build a guitar shaped hotel. You really missed the boat on this one. And you purchased the cosmopolitan ; not even close on wanting to stay there. Yes the mirage needed a serious upgrade which MGM could have done. Instead you sold out your employees as well as the public ! What a shame! I guess you can take comfort in knowing people don’t want to stay at that hotel now owned by the seminoles and they will seek out another MGM resort. Your business decisions suck!

Remember what happened with the last Economic recession? All construction ground to a halt. We know there's another economic recession coming, and, once again, all construction will ground to halt, given Sinless City is dependent on disposable income.
