Je peut pas croire que je decouvris a l'age de 64 ce voix magnifique. La langue francaise a toujour me touche. J'ai longetemps adore piaf, ferrat, duteil, moustaki et dassin. Maintenant j'ajoute mareille matieu a ma liste. Vous francais vous avez probablement la plus belle langue dans le monde entier. Je dit ca etant Irlandais bien connu pour notre ecriture, poesie, drama etc. Vive la Framce

I like you, discovered mireille by accident. This was back in early 1970, in england. My very good friend mike told me about her. Back then i thought she was fantastic, still do. Beautiful lady, beautiful voice.

Oh wow. Love this song, the original and was always wondering as a kid which version would be more amazing, her or Edith Piaf and Merielle is absolutely fantastic. That voice. Was a huge fan of hers as a kid and still am after all those years.

It was like being hit by lightning. I first saw MM on Sunday Night at the London Palladium, circa early 60's, and was, at the tender age of around 9, utterly smitten. This performance, this song, ..... goosebumps all over again. ❤❤

This is best song in French, I have been studying French for 3 years, but I still cannot speak this "r grasseyé" like this, it so beautiful and almost impossible for me

There are several kinds of r sound, e.g. the usual English r; the trilled r, typically used in Italian; and the uvular r typically used in French. I can do all of those without any difficulty. What she uses is not the usual French uvular r but a TRILLED uvular r. I’ve tried to do that, but I just can’t get the hang of it.

Her accent is distinctly "parisienne". Don't let the rolling r's throw you--her enunciation makes French easier to learn. Bonne Chance!

@@ilovefrench9440 Простите меня, но дату не помню. Но помню другое. На второе отделение концерта пришёл Путин с лидером Ливийской Джама(прости меня Господи)херии Муамаром Кадаффи. Это был последний визит Кадаффи в нашу страну. Потом его (Кадаффи) убили. Путин простил Кадаффи долгов на 4,5 долларов, на найти 500 рублей, чтобы подарить букет цветов великой певице- не нашёл. Меня это покоробило.

I think I have been little in love with this lady since i first heard this song in 1964. As a young serviceman I carried a picture of her around in my hat for years, I even learnt French to understand the songs. We were born within a month of each other in 1946. I have to admit she has aged much better than me. She is still lovely and has not lost that voice. I lived in France for 20 years but never got chance to see her perform. My loss.. Thank you for all the happiness you have brought me over the years.
