Our adventure begins at Male International Airport, where we're picked up and taken to a private lounge at the seaplane terminal. The personalized experience kicks off as we fill out a detailed questionnaire and download a resort app to enhance our stay.
Upon arrival, we're greeted by name and skip the usual check-in process, heading straight to our cozy water villa. Mirihi, a tiny island, is a barefoot paradise covered in fine coral sand. This resort, with its six beach villas and 30 water villas, sits atop one of the best coral reefs in the Maldives, perfect for snorkeling and diving.
We meet the friendly staff some of whom has been working 10-20 years on the island and enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by the Swiss chef, Felix, before exploring the island. Each villa has its unique Maldivian name, and ours, "Miyaru," means shark. The villa is luxurious yet TV-free, encouraging us to unplug and connect with nature.
Throughout our stay, we experience Mirihi's commitment to eco-friendliness, from wooden toothbrushes to coral planting programs. The island's rustic charm, combined with top-notch service, makes us feel at home. We savor gourmet meals, including a three-course tasting menu and fresh seafood, while enjoying stunning ocean views.
Our days are filled with activities like snorkeling, yoga, and meditation. Despite missing the whale shark trip due to strong winds, we enjoy lazy beach days, exploring the island's library, and engaging in a private yoga session with Danushka. The staff's dedication and the resort's focus on mental detox make our stay truly special.
Evenings are magical, with signature cocktails, educational talks about manta rays, and private beach sunsets. As we relax under the stars, we realize that Mirihi's unique vibe and luxury redefine our idea of paradise.
