Mirko Filipović and Mark Hunt are those rare old-school fighters who fight to this day. Although behind the backs of each of their fantastic careers of 20 years long, during which they personally built the history of kickboxing.

Ever since I saw Mark Hunt eat that high kick and keep on fighting I was a fan of his. True warrior spirit. Also, the fight with Bigfoot Silva was legendary, and IMO one of the best HW fights ever. Much respect from Croatia.

Imagine being Cro Cop with Tree Trunks as Legs, a lethal high kick no one could ever take only to fight a Samoan Tank who shrugs of a clean kick to the head. At this moment Cro Cop must have thought, let me out and let me go home. This was superhuman display from Hunt.

Hunt is the toughest dude I've seen in the ring. No-one else could wear that much punishment and keep fighting on. And he did it thru his whole, long career.

1:26 That staredown with Wanderlei Silva in Pride FC was legendary. Wanderlei used to unnerve many other fighters of the time, and had a reputation as a psycho. Mirko Crocop just stared right through his soul....

@@chrisbreezy2676 I have never even heard what Joe Rogan said in this regard. I just remember the staredown from back in the days of Pride, and rewatching it reminded me, that's all. If you think that there are many better staredowns, so be it.... everyone will have their own opinion. I never claimed it was the best ever anyhow, but I do consider it to be a legendary staredown, to be sure.

He has the hardest head. Not chin. If you looked at all his fights the one thing he always does is lower his chin making it extremely hard for any fighter to strike.

Crocop was a truely intimidating badass fighter. At the same time, Hunt is the kind of fighter that no matter what you throw at him he wont go down. One of the toughest chins in fighting. Both legends were always good to watch no matter who they fought.

Mirko and Hunt are one of the best fighters from old era. When someone mentions mma, my first taught is Mirko, Hunt or Fedor.. This was an era of amazing clashes!

Eating that high kick to the head is equivalent of getting hit by a speeding truck FFS! As a Croatian I've always rooted for Crocop in his fights but the close second is Mark Hunt and I almost rooted for him in this one after the kick. I love his unrelenting heart and spirit. Old school warrior through and through, just a badass all the way.

Thanks for this video , two legendary fighters of combat sports. They got their place in history as one of the bests. The fight of Hunt vs big foot Silva in the UFC is a classic fight. Crocop win in rizen , was a memorable victory.

Mirko’s roundhouse kick has KOd many top notch fighters. Hunt had his bell rung, but kept pushing forward. Great fight between two of the best strikers in MMA.

At that time, Hunt's chin was pretty much the standard definition of a "granite chin". I think the only other that came close to it back then was Ray Sefo.

man, it is such a delight watching cro cop fight... no sloppy jabs, every step is calculated, he fights with every move planned. he might have had a weak chin (contrary to Mark, he is a tank) but he certainly knew how to fight.

Micro was one of my favorite fighters. His kicks were dangerous to say the least. But his punches and ground game were very underrated. He was definitely, at one time, the most dangerous man on the planet
