Same here. I have a masters in chemistry and computing and 20 years in healthcare. I thought she was full of it the moment I first saw her interviewed. Those who poured funding into her web of lies should have consulted experts - any real expert, including a doctor or nurse - and they would have seen through this in a heartbeat.

11years possibly cut to 9 for good behavior. Federal sentences require serving something like 80% of original sentence. States give significantly more credit as time off for good behavior. Personally I’m disappointed Holmes was found not guilty re: defrauding patients. Her CEO/boyfriend took the fall for that. Balwani ended up w longer sentence - something like 13 years - in separate Club Fed facility…

Actually Jho Low is a good lesson. U can see that connections are probably the single most important thing in business. Even if u r a mediocre business man, people will buy from u rather than from an unknown person. Jho went overboard and was too loud in his spending u need to keep a low key. He is not the first person that profits from the wealth of a country and won’t be the last. Do you think Malaysia is the only country suffering from corruption, think again! All good times come to an end. I think he stole too much too soon, if he had distributed his dirty little tricks well over time he would have made more money and be set for life. By the way the Malaysian government and the key people involved know exactly what where he is hiding. Why can’t they find him? Because if Jho “porky pig” opens his mouth, lots of heads are going to be chopped. Play dumb and keep it quiet. By the way it all seems to be a dream of the past. The angry masses of people suffer from mass amnesia …

The Elizabeth Holmes story is much more complex than what's depicted here, but the basic gist is that she didn't really start out as an ultimate scammer, but got in way over her head, believing in her own "fake it 'til you make it" protocol, which was very common in silicon valley. Her boyfriend / COO is who primarily pushed Theranos into its darkest corners before finally collapsing, with Elizabeth delving ever further into panic mode as the end approached.

Her power is to just be able to come up with the money needed to find and maintain the people who can invent. She's a genius talker and a convincer , plus she had the connections through her parents wealth. I have a reason to believe she believed she actually could pull it off

I tend to agree with you. Even though most people want to pile onto the crushed Elizabeth Holmes, she didn't start out at 19 determined to become an ultimate tech scammer, she really believed this could somehow be pulled off, especially when her own Stanford professor thoroughly encouraging her and joined the board of her company. It was, in essence, an ultimate "fake it 'til you make it" agenda, actually quite typical in silicon valley culture.

I believe if you have to renew a visa, you have to go back to your actual country. You would need an appointment. Maybe Rachel didnt talk to her parents about Anna. Im into computers and technology. I thought what Elizabeth Holmes wanted to do is not possible yet. A NYC couple that i knew lost their money with Madoff and had to move out of their NYC townhome , and sell their summer home. They downsized to a NYC apartment in a newly built building. It was very sad they had to sell things from their previous generations. they had to pay back money because they were part of the clawback lawsuit. If these Madoffs are monsters than why were these victims gullible to give these people your $$$. I thought $$ was everything. Where is the wisdom and discernment these victims are supposed to have? I don't feel bad for these victims nor the Bernie Madoffs in this world. That's Life!! The Game of Life.
