He used to kill cats in the palace for fun, he slapped and kicked his pregnant sister Shruti once for disagreeing with him, he was well known to be an alcoholic and drug abuser. I'm not a member of the royal family, and I'm unsure if he ever opposed his family. He wrote poems for his mom, and from what I've heard, he deeply respected his dad, which is evident.

I too was there during Everest Hotel case as I was working as a Duty Manager at Hotel Everest. We staffs were damn scared when he took out his pistol... He also slapped his ADC... poor ADC felt so humiliated and crushed his hand in the wall. However, the Galaxy Club (club in Hotel Everest) party went well without disturbance. The incident took place in the morning only. I had a chance to talk with him for a while and he seems a pure gentleman with a great personality.

Can the words of Gyanendra and Paras really be trusted. After gaining power, what if they decide to make Paras the king. It's not unprecedented and it will be easy by claiming various reasons such as lack of maturity of hridendra. And even if that doesn't happen , what is the proof that hridendra or his descendants will not follow the same path as paras. While the actions of goverment is dissapointing, what makes the Shahs so special that they can be trusted except Paras solely due to their birth.
