Miss Colorado is the most intelligent and thoughtful Miss America contestant I have ever heard of. She was also valedictorian of her nursing school. Please treat nurses with all the kindness and respect they deserve. They're great people who aren't there to pick up after you. They're there to take care of you medically, help support you mentally and emotionally, and monitor and maintain your health. They do a lot more and go through a lot more than you could ever imagine. It takes so much compassion, knowledge, and open-mindedness to be a nurse and it's sad that nurses undergo so much hate, disrespect, and violence in their line of work.

I wish this was what "Beauty Contests" were based on. Not just how attractive the person looks on the outside but what kind of person and how beautiful their heart is on the inside. I would love to see more "Beauty Contests" with women who served in the military, on the police force, firefighters, doctors, teachers, etc. People who have done great things that we can learn something from. If more beauty contests were like this, then I would start watching them.

I love Ellen. if more people had her morals, values, intelligence, humor and kindness and brains, it would be such a wonderful world. I have watched since the day her showdown started. If you have a bad day or are just feeling bad, watch Ellen and at least for that hour you laughed and your troubles aren't so bad

+Derek Simmons Do you know why she is a vegan? Not everyone is a vegan due to ethical reasons. There are many people who do it for their health, as a diet or because they want to try another way of living. I don't know Ellen's reasons for being a vegan, and I don't know if you do either, but I think you should not judge something like that if you're not really knowing the reasons. :)

I am so happy to see the positive way Ellen is talking about Miss Johnson. I cannot say enough how disappointed I am with the rude comments made Joy Behar, Michelle Collins, and the rest if the View staff. They were disrespectful of Miss Johnson's choice of talent and had the audacity to laugh at her story and the way she was dressed. They asked why she was wearing a doctor's stethoscope on stage. It is apart of our uniform and kept on us at all times to assess our patients. It was hurtful to listen to them degrade my nursing profession as a whole. You mock one nurse, you insult all of us. I hope Ellen is able to shed some light on the situation and shows her support for Miss Johnson and the rest if the nursing community. #nursesunite #nursesrock

why are you selling leather shoes ellen? i thought you are a vegan and you said you watched earthlings, so why do you choose to support this. you have such a big range of influence, you could really make a change and make people more conscious about veganism by for example promoting vegan clothing lines and setting up your own vegan clothing line. why do you choose to promote cruelty, violence and abuse instead?
