This is a film of the book Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day. I have the book which is a good read. I also have the DVD which I wish I didn’t , it butchers the book.

Pace is a bit inconsistent. Caught him in one particularly unforgivable mispronunciation, even for the regional accent he selected (probably the only one he "does").

Well, Amy Adams is playing an American, so hers is fine. Lee Pace's accent is passable for a guy who's really from Oklahoma.

@@nungsap Yes. Both are adults. But the key difference is that she is trying to avoid making any decision, and he is trying to force her to make a decision, now. His biggest problem? Demanding that someone decide NOW to spend the rest of their life with you (and surrender bodily and legal autonomy, in this age) is an absolutely insane thing to do. I get this is a script, and it's a bit on the melodramatic side, but still the whole "you have to decide now, because last time you left me hanging I went crazy and attacked the Tower of London because you think I'm not good enough for you" is... well I'm just saying that's a red flag. An extremely large red flag. Like probably just go get the AVO now because this guy clearly ain't gonna take no for an answer, ever. Frankly, if this were real life, the moment he said "I want you to marry me!" is when I would have bailed.

Yep. Let's say 100% of the problem is hers, just for the sake of argument. He's still a hot head ex con who can't control himself regarding her despite 100% of the problem being her. Given that she won't change her stripes and become an icon of morality, then we can assume she'll leave him hanging again and make him crazy again leading to more lawless behavior which won't make him any more marriageable. Shrug.
