At long last, finally actually getting going with the first real work of the refit job. This one is possibly disturbing to some viewers. It was disturbing to me!

@@Mizamook well my definition of fun is cooking. I got myself a culinary degree. I also enjoy watching boats get fixed up.

@@KS-fk4ov Very cool! Cooking is much more fun that fixing boats, but fixing boats so you can be cooking at anchor in a lovely cove makes it worth it. Congrats on the degree! That's awesome.

Thank god for technology. it is just like old times! except I see your eyes more now. Remember you had really long bangs when we were kids? Great library collection. It will be well worth the work when you've got Arcturus back into tip top shape. :)

I could not see much back then ... clueless, and lots more hair in general, despite the eyes in question working better. WHEN *(not if) I get this done, it will be worth it. Great to have your interest and support!

Gene, Seeing that exposed rotten patch of plywood must have been alarming. What was the stainless steel screw attached to?

Alarming, yes. Also add "discouraging, daunting, disheartening". "YIKES" would also apply. The stainless screw was attached to a piece of wood sistering one of those rotten ribs. I think it will become more clear in the next video, where I make the area larger and remove more stuff on the inside.
