Great to see the faces behind those "voices". Great camerawork. The thing that strikes me again and again during those missions, is the incredible top quality teamwork . It really makes you want to be part of that team.

It’s weird hearing Charles Hobaugh in his natural tone of voice after watching STS-107 videos.

The equivalent video for STS-129 is watch?v=KGWEvVlnftY Hopefully NASAtelevision will produce something like this for one of the future launches.

Wow, this is outstanding. Do they every release "Flight Director POV" videos of launches? I wish I could hear the loop throughout the mission instead of just the CAPCOM and PAO.

What’s the “loop”?
@QuasiRandomViewer2 жыл бұрын
@@therestorationofdrwho1865 A voice "loop" is what they call the intercom channel. The Flight Director's loop is what we hear in this video, with the Flight Director (FD or "Flight") and all the other controllers who communicate directly with the FD. What I was hoping for was to hear the FD loop in a similar video but for a launch.

Who is the flight director?
@thetommoody2 жыл бұрын
It is gentleman named Norm Knight...he served in the Flight Operations Directorate for many years as Flight Director before becoming the Director of this Division. I had the unique opportunity in 2013 to interview him and Shuttle Booster Officer Ed Turcotte for a project that I am still working on. He was exceedingly helpful and gracious to me and remains one of my NASA 'heroes.'

I cannot believe 10:29. The Flight director is asking Booster,who should've been off console FOR THE REST OF THE MISSION two hours after launch,for post landing deltas. LOL.

I think it was just out of habit of polling everyone. Plus that may be the policy.

Booster was also responsible for SSMEs, so probably to make sure nothing was wrong with the engines while they're shut down
