This is crazy. How in the world did he do that? The whole scene looks so real. No CG, no green screen work, and no nets to be seen. This scene was awesome when I first saw it in the theater, and still looks great now.

Interview with the director John Woo and he said Tom did it all, he said he did not have the stomach to watch it and was scared all the way, No wires no doubles, just Tom.. He did it also in Rogue Nation, holding on to the plane.

Climber Ron Kauk was hired as the climbing stunt double for Tom Cruise on the film. But Kauk never ended up doubling Cruise for any climbing. Kauk, in the end only trained Cruise on how to climb properly. Kauk doubled Cruise for only one shot in the film, and not a climbing shot. Kauk stood in for a second-unit shot when Cruise's stuntman Keith Campbell was unavailable. Kauk received stunt credit because of how much time and effort het had put in training Cruise.

Tom cruise, kicked some ass as did 40% of the good actors in the movie did.. BUT - the production was flawed, the direction was.... sorry - there was no direction - the actors in the movie held the movie with themselves, the direction was okay, but it it could've been just a bunch of guys in a garage making a movie, but they were good guys and it was a good movie - I'm about to tear up another movie - share me if you like

If I remember in the behind the scenes look they said that this scene was done in Moab, Utah and Tom Cruise really did almost all if not all of the climbing without any ropes or anything, at the least I do know that the 15 foot jump from cliff to cliff was really done by Cruise without any kind of safety equipment.
@nicomorg114 жыл бұрын
I heard that whoever was doing that stunt actually slipped and the directer just decided to keep it in the movie, however I don't know how true that is. Normally when someone chooses to solo a route, they pick one that they can walk off the back, or they bring a rope up with them to rappel off of, or on shorter routes they down climb.
