We the tenants adjoined to a Nursing Home by the grace of God started doing daily devotions with the residents and other tenants. It is really encouraging to listen to people in their late 80's early 90's reading their Bibles out loud (volunteers only no pressure) and praying together. This is our mission field.💖🙏

God the Father gave me a waking vision of in the clouds in a glorified body. It was beautiful and I've never felt better BUT it wasn't that big. Looked big enough for hundreds maybe thousands. That means when it's preached when millions/billions disappear in the rapture is in error. Wolves in sheep's clothing leading the lukewarm to the lake of fire. Few!

We (Ugandan and Canadian mixed couple with 9 children) work in El Salvador and in Uganda (and when on furlough, in Canada) and there is a massive problem with paganism mixed with “Christianity” in Latin America and Africa. and I believe it is a mixture of indigenous background or susceptibility because of their world view and presuppositions, AND because of charismatic teachings (missionaries) over decades and the influence of the Charismatic Movement that quickly melds with the animistic world view. The result is not just confused Christians who don’t leave their pagan culture, but a false gospel. And in Uganda, there are so many cults that use Christian terminology but are full of witchcraft! People in rural areas that we have seen, don’t hear the Word of God and depend on pastors and “prophets” telling them what God says… we are seeing people set free, just from hearing God’s Word with Calvary Chapel “Proclaimer” audio bibles. So much training is needed for pastors here! (And as African missionaries who have never been fully funded, this model is so great!- we are still figuring it out after 15 years in the mission field as a family, and have been building things up very slowly, but have found it helpful to think in ways of being entrepreneurs and creating sustainable projects. Mixing business (agriculture and micro finance) with preaching the Gospel, making disciples, and orphan care- “needing” the church, but also “being dependent on no man”, but “working with our own hands”.

Paganism has also crept into western christianity as well. The prosperity gospel is a prime example. Some of Rome has practiced paganism for millennia, but at the Council of Trent, they went full pagan.

I haven't seen it yet, but in Man Rampant season 5 (the most recent season), episode 1 features Voddie Baucham speaking to Douglas Wilson on the subject of "Christian Nationalism". Doug, at the 22:05 mark you say to church members that they should "ask [their] elders if they wouldn't mind if you started a Bible study in your neighborhood for non-Christians". Can you clarify if you misspoke? You don't really believe Christians need their local church elders' permission to study the Bible with other people, do you?
@HartyBiker
@HartyBiker 11 ай бұрын
I don't know for sure because I haven't seen any talks from this, but I'll take a stab at it. The point would be that doing a bible study with unbelievers is a mission activity, and I have heard both of these men say that churches should send missionaries rather than people just going out without oversight and doing missions. That's not to be confused with evangelism that all Christians are called to, but specifically missions and missionaries. Part of the point of bringing it to the elders of your local church, then, is for oversight, but part is also because as your elders they ought to know whether you have gifts congruent with that type of service. So it's not so much that Christians need their local church's authority to study the bible with other people, it's about submitting to a local church's oversight and about the local church guiding its members to where they can be most effectively used. If a person has a gift of hospitality, they should be using that gift to be hospitable, but not to be preaching sermons. If a person has the gift of discernment, that person isn't necessarily the first one you call to organise a church picnic or something to that effect. Likewise, if someone has proposed to do a bible study with unbelievers, the church should evaluate that person to see whether or not they have displayed gifts necessary for that. I hope that answered your question.
@ArugaPH

If they do it under the banner of their church, then they should, which is always the case, because there's no ministry apart from the local church..
@davidtorres5867
@davidtorres5867 11 ай бұрын
@HartyBiker Claiming that Christians need "oversight" of local church pastors to study the Bible with others is neither Biblical, Protestant, nor Confessionally Reformed. It is ecclesiastical enslavement and tyranny. I say this as a Confessionally Reformed Christian who is a joyful member of a Confessionally Reformed church. You do not need a special "gift" to study the Bible with others or even instruct them. The formal teaching office is different than the informal teaching all Christians are to participate in (Rom 15:14; 1 Pet 2:9; Acts 8:4). Pastors should be encouraging Christians to study the Bible with others as much as possible, and relying on the Scriptures themselves, the Holy Spirit, and their formal exposition and doctrinal instruction to lead God's people into a right understanding of his Word.
@davidtorres5867
@davidtorres5867 11 ай бұрын
@@ArugaPHThis is certainly what many cults teach (and local churches with cultish tendencies), but it cannot be defended biblically. This is "churchianity", not "Christianity". Parents, Grand-parents, siblings, coworkers, friends, classmates, teachers, coaches, etc can all do God-glorifying ministry "apart from the local church". None of this downplays the importance of local churches or pastors in their God-ordained sphere.

What the modern Church needs is a New Covenant Revival (Heb. 9:10) in which members of various denominations are willing to re-examine everything they believe and see if it agrees with the Bible, instead of the traditions of men. We need to be like the Bereans. It will be a battle between our flesh and the Holy Spirit. It will not be easy. If you get mad and upset when someone challenges your man-made Bible doctrines, that is your flesh resisting the truth found in God's Word. Nobody can completely understand the Bible unless they understand the relationship between the Old Covenant given to Moses at Mount Sinai and the New Covenant fulfilled in blood at Calvary. What brings all local churches together into one Body under the blood of Christ? The answer is found below. New Covenant Whole Gospel: Let us now share the Old Testament Gospel found below with the whole world. On the road to Emmaus He said the Old Testament is about Him. He is the very Word of God in John 1:1, 14. Awaken Church to this truth. Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by husband unto them, saith the LORD: Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Is the most important genealogy in the Bible found in Matthew 1:1 (Gal. 3:16)? Is God's Son the ultimate fulfillment of Israel (John 1:49)? Why has the modern Church done a pitiful job of sharing the Gospel with modern Orthodox Jews? Why would someone tell them they are God's chosen people and then fail to share the Gospel with them? Who is the seed of the woman promised in Genesis 3:15? What did Paul say about Genesis 12:3 in Galatians 3:8? Who is the "son" in Psalm 2? Who is the "suffering servant" of Isaiah 53? Who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34? Who would fulfill the timeline of Daniel chapter 9 before the second temple was destroyed? Why have we not heard this simple Old Testament Gospel preached on Christian television in the United States on a regular basis? Once a person comes to understand the New Covenant promised to Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 31:31-34, which is found fulfilled by Christ during the first century in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 10:16-18, and specifically applied to the Church in 2 Corinthians 3:6-8, and Hebrews 12:22-24, man-made Bible doctrines fall apart. Let us now learn to preach the whole Gospel until He comes back. The King of Israel is risen from the dead! (John 1:49, Acts 2:36) We are not come to Mount Sinai in Hebrews 12:18. We are come instead to the New Covenant church of Mount Zion and the blood in Hebrews 12:22-24. 1Jn 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. 1Jn 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. 1Jn 3:24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. The following verses prove the Holy Spirit is the master teacher for those now in the New Covenant. Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Mar 1:8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost. Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Act 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost. 1Co 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. 1Jn 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. @@borrowedtruths6955 It's pretty ironic that you're not taking your own advice about studying the Bible in context, because literally none of those passages support the rapture doctrine. If a person was dishonest and illiterate enough, they can read whatever belief they want into the text, especially when there are a ton of other passages that contradicts that belief.
@borrowedtruths6955
@borrowedtruths6955 11 ай бұрын
@@theeternalsbeliever1779 Always be prepared for those who cannot or will not see the truth. There is nothing about a "secret rapture" in 1st Thess. 4:16-17, At the end of the tribulation period if the saints are raptured and then turn right around and come back to earth, which would make no sense whatsoever, and attempts to displace much of the Book of Revelations from chapter 4 to 19, in which the church, the bride of Christ is not even mentioned. In 2nd Thess. 2:7 the Holy Spirit is indeed the only one who can or ever has restrained evil, and so when He is removed those that have been born-again will be removed with Him, unless you believe that we will be abandoned by Him. In Luke 21 the context is from verse 8-36, not just a singular verse. In verse 36 we are to pray that we will be accounted worthy to escape. Escape what? The entire context is about the tribulation period, and so it is seen as truth that there will be a rapture before the time of Jacobs troubles begin. If not, then that would infer that you believe we can lose our salvation, or in some way be cast off by the Lord. And as for Matthew 24:13, if you are going to say that there is no rapture of the church, that those who have been crucified with Christ will be left behind when the Holy Spirit is removed, then what you are saying by default is that all who have been saved by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ can lose their salvation, you are left with no other option. Try again?

The word MISSION is not in the Word of God. But, what does mission means? A specific task with which a person or a group is charged. (Merriam-Webster) So, according to the definition before, as christians, our mission is anything we do in order to accomplish something for the benefit of the kingdom of God. Biblical examples of Godly or divine missions: JOSEPH. Was appointed to be the governor of Egypt in order to provide food and house for the people of God in a time of crisis. ESTHER. Was appointed to be the queen of Persia in order to be used to persuade the king to avoid the destruction of the people of God. PAUL. Was appointed apostle to the gentiles in order to show the jews that they were not exclusive and salvation is available to all humans who repent from their sins and reconcile with God through Jesus. And through any mission, we christians are called to show God by the way we do and behave in our mission. Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma. But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. (Ephesians 5.1-3 NKJV) Now, apostleship is another type of mission that consists in this: Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20 NKJV)

At around the 15 minutes mark I take objection to what Voddie states. It is a statement which is massively over generalised about the state of Europe. Again another version of US self-centredness. As a European yes it it is secular but not lost. His remark coming from a country who in the release of the recent film “Sounds of Freedom” states that the US is the biggest contributor to child sex trafficking and production and consummation of pornography doesn’t sound like a country whose ministers should be making statements about the lostness of other nations, it most certainly sounds as if the US is not walking in Canaan land itself, and having worked in Africa for around the past 20 years on and off the Christianity that Africans are buying into is not Southern Baptist evangelicalism but the health and wealth gospel Charismatics another great American export right up there with your pornography. So no thank you if that is the means to re-evangelise Europe, no different from the pure materialism we suffer under the current secular culture. I think before you pontificate about the state of Europe, first sort out the moral degeneracy of your own country and it seems your churches are doing very little to stem the flow of filth. Maybe you need the African church to come to you first before us. How about we recognise that it is not one continent or the other that can do the evangelising it is only God looking for a man to do his bidding that matters and if he finds such a man, whether African, European, even American then that is all its takes for each nation to have God break through. I am from the U.K. and countless times we have been on our knees with darkness abounding but as Christians we have learnt it is always the darkest before the dawn.

I asked a Calvinist last year, "hey, if I was to invite a non believer to your Bible study and he asked you, 'does God love me?' This was his reply, ' I would tell him, 'God loves people just like you! Duh!?. He couldn't answer simply that God loves him because he didn't know if this non believer was one of the 'elect'!!!!!!! That was enough for me. Calvinism is nothing more than a man-made doctrines and reserved for those who think of themselves as special. But I found many of them arrogant, proud with an unwillingness to admit they don't know everything! I despise reformed theology.

Does god love his bride in a special way compared to those who are lawless and reject his grace. Or does he love everyone the same? If he doesn’t love his bride in a special way, then it really isn’t special to be his bride. We need to be humble enough to acknowledge that we don’t have God’s perspective on history, we don’t who is elect and who isn’t. But god does, so we just need to obey spread the gospel. He will have mercy on whom he will. We can’t know who he will have mercy on. Everyone who is not shown mercy will receive perfect justice. No one will receive injustice. That we do know. God is just and he is merciful. He demonstrates his attributes for his own glory for his own good will and pleasure. We can’t question his motives in this.

I'm not sure why youtube suggested this video to me as I don't follow either of these brothers here, but I will say that the answer about women in missions is terribly incomplete. The question is incomplete and the answer is incomplete. There is nothing wrong with women wanting to serve the Lord outside of marriage and biological motherhood. In fact, St Paul says it is preferable to remain single and dedicate oneself to the service of the Lord than to be married. Christ did not marry, and neither did many of the women who followed and served him, not to mention the countless women religious who have served the Lord faithfully through celibate orders through the centuries. The desire to remain single and care for orphans, widows, or other Godly work is nothing that needs to be corrected by the church. As for the answer, while Dr Baucham is correct that perhaps there are protestant female missionaries ut in the field without the proper protection and oversite that they need, that is not the problem of the women who desire to serve the Lord and others. That is the problem of a disorganized protestant world with 30,000 plus unique "churches" and thousands more "para church" organizations all trying to figure out how to reinvent the wheel of missionary work post the breakaway from Rome after the "reformation". There are, on the other hand, plenty of women from all Christian traditions serving well around the world, and praise God for their service and efforts for the Kingdom.

I would agree it can feed to the ego. We see too many "churches" which look more of a theatrical performance more than anything biblical. But I have attended many church were the Holy Spirit be applauded as He works through the preacher. Would you please point me to the bible verse that states what you are presenting as a fact?

@@stephencarter9097 I don't have any verse in mind. Only that clapping is associated with performance.
