This song is so beautiful. It touched my heart as soon as I heard it! This is the song that will be played at my husband & my baptism! Our God is a forgiving God,,,how can we not want to be like him?!

i love this song it speaks truth and brings th spirit and im a convert and i remembr th elder elder smith and elder janson nz mission february 2012 rotorua , i rember th elders singing this ! im greatful for this gospel th ,many blessings and th eternal promises we have . I L O V E THIS SONG

On one of the Elders visits, they bought me the "Hymn book" and asked me to choose a hymn from it. I had no idea what to choose, as I only returned to "The Church of Jesus Christ Of Later Day Saints", so was not familiar with any of the songs, I choose this "Lord I would follow thee", because I liked the title, and it was my intention to follow the Lord. How wonderful that these beautiful young Missionaries sang this song, with me following in tune. I love it, so inspiring. Brisbane

Guys...it's getting to the point where I am actually beginning to all out HATE my own mother. It sounds awful but that's how it is. She is a hypocritical narcissist that accuses me of not caring about her and doing nothing to clean up around the house when that's all I do all day long. I caught a massive cold (one she didn't notice I had until the end of the week) because I was doing so much for everyone. My immune was weak. But obviously I don't care, right? She says she spoiled me. When? She barely gives me the time of day, doesn't listen when I talk and when I was little and literally needed her protection she failed me. Miserably. So I developed an attitude of taking everything on myself. Saying I'm fine when I'm not so I wouldn't burden her. She has hurt me and let me down so many times and I still forgive her. Every time. I'm not sure how long I can do this for. It's been more than half my life trying to get my own mother to love me and my strength is severely depleted and I just...I'm going to church every week now so...the Holy Spirit keeps me from saying some things that I know would crush her and end the relationship we don't have. We were fighting this morning after she spent all night out with her man. Being the sweetheart that I am I was concerned and happy to see her but she came home with an attitude because the dishes weren't put away. Anyway, I was so worked up but this song calmed me right down. Reminding me to keep trying with her and keep loving despite the fact she doesn't appreciate me. Anyway, sorry about the long rant.

Hey man, sorry to hear about the trouble you've been having with your mother. Its something that I can relate to. Its hard to not take it out on yourself when fingers are pointing your way. What's helped me is to just let things like that just "float down the river" right by me and not stop with me. Try to visualize the problems just passing by because at the heart of it, your mom loves you and she is just stressing about some bigger problems inside and taking it out on you. So dont let it get to ya. I also had to learn the hard lesson that in order to make other people happy I have to do what makes them happy and not what I want to do to make them happy. So maybe to your mom the dishes is something that would make her happy whereas if you vacuumed she wouldn't even notice. Hope this helped.

Hey bro, definitely feel the same way for a large part, I felt neglected and tried to look after my siblings in a way my mum didn't look after me. I despised my parents for a long time, then I came to know Christ as Lord and Savior. When you realize how much God has forgiven you, it becomes easier to forgive.
