I would love to see Jenny revisit these older tutorials and show us how to do them in fresh fabric ideas and in her "evolved" teaching manner!

Thanks for the explanation. I definitely need to get this kind of ruler. So far I have been using a square cut from transparent tablecloth as a template, but this ruler is so much more versatile. But I think you used the 4-line for the first two cuts and the 5-line for the last two cuts, so the skull is not centered ;) But the explanation is great anyway.

Thank you for that tutorial. I'm just starting to learn different names in quilting. Is there a certain name for when you place a shape on top of a peace of fabric? such as a flower shape on a plain peace of fabric with stuffing in the center to raise it. Thank you very much for helping me.

Can you fussy cut with a ruler rather than templates. I need to fussy cut two 9 1/2 squares and don't have templates. Can I make them or do I need to buy them?

I love your tutorials Jenny (and I'm a regular MSQC customer) but sometimes you need to slow down and explain better. For example, you mentioned the nice red lines "on the 5" " mark but the red lines aren't actually on the inch marks... they are on the 1/2" inch marks... which is for cutting the fabric correctly so there is extra to account for the 1/4" seams. Example, when you want a 5" square finished, you need to cut it at 5/12" inch so that AFTER you sew 1/4" seams, it will be 5". You didn't explain that AT ALL so people newer to quilting probably did not understand why you weren't actually cutting on on the 5" line. Also, squaring up with a ruler requires you to leave a portion of fabric "beyond" the measurement you need and you don't actually do the real measurement until you cut the last 2 sides.... I get it because I know how this is done but there is no way a beginner would pick that up by watching this video where you don't explain at all. Sometimes it sounds like you are nervous and talking fast to just get through it. You need to slow down, and cover the basics the beginner needs to know. The experts probably already know how to do these cuts and therefore aren't your target audience anyway. Please don't consider this as mean, it is meant as constructive feed back to improve your content. Thanks
