It's okay Trudy, Seven years ago I did exactly what you've done. I mean moving to my husband's country. What I've done is that I made my new home as homely as I could!! I have a kitchen garden with sukuma wiki (kales) and all the vegetables we have in Kenya. I also bought things I thought I could not get in my new home things like cooking stick😁😁. In short dear, make your new home feel like home for you.

Aww that's so sweet. My Nigerian fiance moved from London to South Africa with me and it was difficult for him at first because the culture here is very different. But luckily he also had a lot of family and friends already here and that has made it easier. But your comment is helping me because I've never actually thought of how I could help him make his life a little more familiar to his life back home.

I moved from Africa to France 37 years ago. A country that I don’t even speak the language. My only friend is my husband that speaks English. I quickly settled myself by attending French language school and culture now the rest is history. I pray that God go with with and make this journey a fruitful one. Maya looks a very loving man and I pray God continue to bless your union. Always bear in mind that in any union there will always be ups and down. My advice to you is to embrase both with an open mind. Settle down quickly with your own family that also helps. The arrival of my daughter was a game changer.
