This, among other reasons, is why you are such an inspiration!! You are real, you show failures along with successes, ideas that were good at the time but didn't pan out, plants you just put in the ground that you already have to move... we've all been there, but having someone like you acknowledge the same issues we have, shows us all that no garden is perfect. It's always a work in progress! Thanks💙

There was a woman there who was putting a new garden together and she said something like "You look like you have things well in hand." I said, "I watch Laura @GardenAnswer so I know everything!" Then I laughed and said I was teasing about me knowing everything but Laura does! I love to garden! Wonderful timing! Just last night I was searching your old videos to see how these Limettas were doing. As a future suggestion - could you do videos focused on just one type of plant? Very satisfying to take care of a spot where your plants aren't thriving. I'm so thankful not to have the soil issue that you're combatting, but then I can't dig a hole in the clay without being on my hands and knees using the claw side of a hammer. Always trade offs :) And how I love hydrangeas. I have so many in my zone 7B gardens, maybe 50, and they never ever disappoint! Keep the hydrangeas coming!!! Love that particular garden of your property.

Jenny from Creekside just did a video about these yesterday. PW sent them some to test and see how the blooms did with the nighttime temps that don’t cool down in the south. Apparently they are worried the blooms won’t go red, just brown. Looking forward to seeing if they work in your area.

Laura, yes, learning from you that there are still fails even after years of gardening is liberating as my wife and I continue to learn about flower and vegetable gardening in Zone 6A (Crestwood, KY). What you have also taught us is that gardening is definitely not a 'one and done' type of thing but rather throughout the season you can be adding/moving/changing plants as the weather changes. My wife was convinced she didn't have room to add a 'thriller' to a pot around our pool and I showed her a video of you planting some pots and she quickly saw that our pot could handle another plant or two! Thanks for all you do for the gardening community across the country!

So it’s nice to see that even the best gardeners have plants that don’t thrive. That really shows us what the mindset of any gardener (and really anybody) should be. Wow…..Little Lime Punch!!!!!! I cannot wait to be able to plant one of these in my garden next year. High pH definitely makes iron unavailable to the roots of hydrangeas….that’s why hydrangeas prefer a slightly acidic soil so that they could absorb Fe (iron). Chelated iron and Iron tone are soluble in water so continuous applications is necessary. Hopefully these new LL Punch hydrangeas will be able to thrive there….would love to see how they bloom and their colour change. 🪴💚🙏

Thank you for doing this video. It is a bit of an encouragement that even your garden has set backs. I'm fairly new and things like this happen pretty regularly to me. But it IS getting better. Thank you again and better luck with this round.

It looks beautiful and I love hydrangea. There are so many variables in a garden. This year I noticed such a difference with early extreme heat waves and many seedling plants didn't make it.

It was an encouragement! Good luck with the new ones. It was nice having you tell the spacing as well because I never feel like I can tell on camera how far you are spacing things and it's something I try to take note of.

For someone newer to your channel like me, I love this kind of video because I’m in the planning phase of my own gardens and I appreciate watching you amend soil and build up new beds!! Excited to see how these do long term!!

Oh I can't wait to get my hands on the new Little Lime Punch hydrangea. Can't wait to see yours bloom and see how they do in your area. And thank you for showing garden fails along with the wins. It helps us know that every plant and garden do have issues. It's working with and through those issues that make for good gardening.

Hello everyone! I love that you are willing to show us how nature can be fickle sometimes and remind us that it might not be the plant or our skills but simply where they are placed!

Absolutely love you show when things don't work out, and when your troubleshooting doesn't fix the problem. There are so many variables in the garden, and this demonstrates it perfectly. I've had some amazing luck with things I didn't expect to work, and some terrible luck with things I thought would do really well. Trial and error teaches so much in the garden.
