BEATBOXING: This went hard too, it really mixed well with the flow, and it definitely increased my joy of the other parts of this beatbox! It also hits Very hard when it’s with the chorus, and it sounds so damm good!!!! Not mention am a big sucker for this beatbox style, and it’s simple and like I said with other performances I love simple! So congrats Phantom you get a another 5/5 for this, you’re on a roll with this dude!! Let’s see if you keep it up! LYRICS/ROAST: Now since I don’t have sites like discord, I don’t really get most of these roast, but if most of these are true, then I can see what IKWYA mean when he said Phantom was proud of these, because these sound like they hit hard, and sound very clever, he also really knows when to fit in the right lyrics in the right spots, this is another good one, but while I don’t think it’s the same score as the other 2 i still love this 4/5 MUSICALLY: Loved this a lot once again! The remix mixed well with Phantom, tempo and he really delivers with this one. He’s got the musically pretty well and I can feel the work on this, because this was awesome 4/5 good job dude (Sorry I didn’t have much to say, I just think Musically kinda flows in with Vocals) VOCALS: These are wonderful bro!!!! Phantom more deeper voice really fits as the main vocals, and the part when he hits the higher notes for the background vocals, Go so hard too! And Combined makes a amazing combo that makes the beatboxing feel so lively, And phantom can really make a certain note feels so much powerful! Cuz Godamm! That vocal is amazing 5/5! 5-5-4-4-5= 23/25 (mid A-High A) that shit was amazing EGG!: FLOW: This shit was the smoothest shit I heard in a good damm while, god I knew Egg was a great rapper and stuff but ZAMM! that flow was smooth, pace was perfect and made me start breakdancing, delivery magnificent, 5/5 if I could go higher I would, this is one of my favorites flow-wise BEATBOXING: Really improved! It really fits with this, and even tho it was kinda short it was still very good, and I liked how it sometimes build up the chorus and the other part, that was really good and a very smart way to handle the beatboxing 4/5 LYRICS/ROAST: 1. These we’re really good, and they were really creative with the some of the roasts 2. I like how egg also had some roast that were more easier to understand from someone who doesn’t really know much about Phantom 3. As we already stated Egg is a really good Rapper, and it really shows here with this rhythm and rhyming scheme 5/5! MUSICALLY: really liked the background vocals, they were really good, and improved the flow so much more, and it was very catchy, also wonderful pacing egg 5/5 VOCALS: I really like Egg’s vocals, and this is no exception, they feels so damm powerful! And i don’t know why, it just sounds so damm good! It also makes me love the other factors much much more! And even when he’s going off, he still keeps it, and at time makes it better! 5/5 5-5-4-5-5= 24/25= (High A) 23-24 Egg won the closest match up so far, both competitors were perfect opponents for each other, and they really bounce off each other. Misteryous - Ep. 24 RATING Plot: I could’ve sworn Pingu VS Lucas was also Wave 2 as that’s where the Misteryous Lore started coming in but guess I was wrong. I’m interested to see how this is going to go and I can’t really tell what the voice in the beginning is saying so I’ll look into that further for explanation… Results For Prior Episode: Holy damn. I was expecting Grape to win but I wasn’t expecting the biggest landslide in the show we had yet! I saw Grape getting a 23/25 but honestly didn’t expect Stubbs’ 14! Still both gave it their all and only one would come out and that was (kinda obviously) Grape. Beatbox 1: Let’s start with Competitor 1, Phantom Animates, once again coming in with a lengthy beatbox like in JTYB but still didn’t disappoint! I talked to Phantom on DM’s and they said they were very proud of their lyrics but what do I think? Well, I’m not the biggest egg fan, (always was more of a mashed potato guy) but I believe they did indeed hit hard! Phantom put a lot of work in them as they said in our discord convo. The chorus was very catchy, hit decently well & simple, which is always a good thing! However, I do notice how the lyrics were more focused on the roasting rather than wordplay and the creative aspect but that isn’t a real flaw, just a little nitpick of fine so Phantom starts strong with a 5/5 in lyrics. The flow for this beatbox was fine overall, no big special flow which makes it a 5 but nothing really bad about it either which makes it a 3. However, while watching I noted how Phantom could’ve rephrased the things he said to make it flow just a bit better imo. This isn’t a major problem, just more of a constructive critique for the future so I won’t reduce a point! I’ll give flow a ⅘. Beatboxing in this solo was… fine. It was always in the background of the chorus but it wasn’t bad beatboxing, in fact it improved the chorus for me a bit! I can’t give it a 5 as it was always in the background but still gotta appreciate Phantom’s unique style of beatboxing! I’ll give beatboxing a ⅘. Musicality is said to define how much you enjoy something and I gotta say… I don’t like this LMAO. Jk, jk; it’s just fine but when it came to executing the lyrics, as I said before it could’ve been phrased differently. However, since that’s a minor flaw; the chorus & verses slapped pretty damn hard I think that issue gets overlooked! I give musicality a 5/5. In original scoring Phantom would get a 18/20, pretty damn good. Vocals, the added category which boosts competitor’s score from 20/20 to 25/25! Phantom did show a nice vocalized performance with nice main vocals, solid backing vocals and the W Mixing! It falls in the category of nothing special but nothing bad which leaves Phantom with a solid ⅘! Phantom gets a nice 22/25 imo, a respectable score to earn however, can Competitor 2 beat it? Beatbox 2: Egg returns once again! Ready to scramble his opponent on the mic! Egg is said to have impressive lyrics so I’d love to see his lyrical talent shine through! Yeah, lyrically this was amazing! The way Egg phrased his lyrics to make them flow well to the beat is oh-so incredible! If we look deeper, yeah, Egg did use a lot of bot roasts against Phantom but they were different every time so I gotta let him slide with that one! Egg definitely showed his impressive writing skills in this solo so I gotta give a perfect 5/5 in lyrics. Flow HAS to be up there with lyrics in order to make a great beatbox and Egg did not disappoint! Bro understood the assignment times 2 with amazing flow and using very good rhyme schemes to create an amazing flow! The flow was always kept constant and consistent which makes me give Egg another perfect score with 5/5 in flow! The beatboxing… was uhh to say the least lackluster compared to the other categories ranked so far. There was barely any beatboxing and while this would be simply skipped over in any other YBB, it cannot be glossed over when it is a category to rank objectively. There could’ve been beatboxing in the background of the chorus and it would’ve gotten a 4; if there was at least beatboxing in the background of the verse even if basic, it would’ve gotten at least a 3 but the lack of beatboxing… unfortunately give a ⅖ to Egg in beatboxing. Musicality was once again just fine, nothing special but nothing bad either! The chorus was solid, especially adding some seasoning in with Hydro’s mixing! A solid ⅘ once again which would lead Egg will a 16 in normal Misteryous fashion however, vocals now must be considered in ratings. Vocals for Egg were just like Phantom’s however I like Egg’s verse vocals a bit better as the vocals mix well into the beat used and are very easily audible! This leaves Egg on a great note with a 5/5 score on vocals! Leaving Egg with a score of 21/25, a very respectable score as well! Both competitors did great so props to them! Win or lose, you both did great! However, there can only be one and with a 22 - 21 vote Phantom Animates is my personal winner of Misteryous Ep. 24. Mystery Levels: (This is a bonus ranking based on how mysterious the competitors kept their foe in their solos, there are 5 tiers. (Very Misteryous, Didn’t Know For A While, Could Pick It Up Early, Couldn’t Keep A Secret & The First Damn Word). I couldn’t honestly pick up who Phantom was against until the “Egg Studios” line and later confirmed my suspicions with the “After I’m done with you, you’re gonna crash & burn.” (The first line I remembered from the chorus in Egg’s BFY VS Barry.) However, Phantom did do pretty well keeping it a mystery, “Didn’t Know For A While” is where it goes. Egg was fitting to go second as the constant bot jokes in the first verse were very telling of who the foe is. The chorus being “Phantom, Phantom” just ended the case. I’ll give it the “Couldn’t Keep A Secret” tier. Also Classic Hydro W with the mixing! 👍

Alright so this is one of my favorite Misteryous episodes out there, both did fantastic but I think I have to barley give it to Egg on this one Phantom: So yeah he did great, probably my new favorite from him topping his JTYB against Xye for me. The chorus was just crazy catchy, and I kinda noticed that he became a lot more understandable at least for me. Finally the techno feel of the solo is just really cool (21/25) Egg: After over a year they are finally back for another solo (a lot of people have been coming back recently in Misteryous tbh). Now for the actual solo he did amazing, he improved with basically everything since his last performance (especially vocals). As well Egg probably has some of my favorite lyrics in the entire community, I just love them so much for some reason (22/25) I also find it interesting that they are adding lore to this series (from what I could see at least).
