The question Vinny SHOULD have asked Kevin is not whether those looked like dog bites, but how he believed a car could have produced those particular scratches and puncture wounds. Remember, the burden of proof is on the prosecution, so they need to prove that those injuries were caused by Karen's car. The defense does not have to prove they came from a dog.

I think it’s wrong the prosecution was allowed to argue inaccuracy because in any other case it would have been used as proof. The health app data for steps has only a 2% error margin, it is generally very accurate and I would say it would have been accurate in this case. In a pretrial hearing Lally admitted he could not argue that Jen McCabes Google search occurred at 2:27am then went on to argue that also.
