To add onto your theory of Meta Knight being the demon beast, this is also kind of my headcanon for why I think Meta Knight's wings never show up: He was born with them when created by Nightmare, but tries to hide them, thinking that anyone who found out about them would know he's the demon (even though they're actually way too dumb to notice anything obvious, based on your take on them). As for why he would think this... I don't know, past experiences, maybe? I also headcanon the anime's events to occur before any of the games' settings, so maybe over time he would overcome this anxiety of people blaming him and calling him a horrible monster, knowing that the war was over and Nightmare was already defeated so there was no longer a point in hiding them (not to mention the characters around him are still too dumb to even understand, he was probably too used to being allied with people who actually had brains before he went to Dreamland).

In retrospective and for those who doesn't know the source material or use the scenes for meme, Kirby anime was a wild ride. It surprising that it was HAL who made the anime, which it's different from other cartoons adaptation, how come they have to change (more like butchering) their own source material. I wish they are faithful to games while being made as its own anime. Even the pilot is close despise weird things (avoid the damn Gordo, MK!), I would love if they go to this path. 4:20 Of course! Why is this show so so bad? By which I mean inconsistent and lazily written. No don't pull the nonsensical and lazy child audience card because there are a stupendous number of kids shows that are at least way more consistent than this. Sabbans Pinnochio, Digimon(season 1), Over The Garden wall and even the Lonny Tunes Show all seems way more coherent than this and I wouldn't call most of them high grade entertainment. Maybe it's just a factor of the source material having very little worldbuilding or consistency either?
