I can't list everything I love about this, but here are some lil details that I absolutely love: - Child Dream having long hair that becomes shorter as he grows older, only to return to being long once he's in jail as almost like a regression. - The way Dream and Tommy turn on the disc to show the shift in their relationship. - The rapid fire flashes of George losing his home, Bad losing his mind, Wilbur losing his life and lastly, Dream losing it all. - The clock ticking even after Dream shattered it, implying a Tell-tale Heart kind of madness. - RANBOO'S EYES BEING EYES OF ENDER, I LOVE IT WHEN PEOPLE DO THIS! - The hesitance in Enderwalk!Ranboo's hand when he shakes hands with Dream, implying that even in this state Ranboo doesn't truly want to help. - Dream keeping the shattered clock. Broken hands unmoving beneath shards of glass, yet he still hears the ticking that drove him undeniably mad.

My head canon for Dream’s story is the manhunts are young dream, George, and Sapnap playing tag.

This is very good But the story implications make me go, "Oh no." Then I look at the art and have to go, "Oh yeah."

Ranboo's powers get stronger all the time, if we recall his interactions in the prison and after the prison, when Sam said he altered a SIGNED book... Just saying... Anything could happen...

This is criminally underrated. You do such a good job showing dream's past with george and sapnap, its pretty wholesome ngl.

dream was a young god, born too late to speak to the old ones, born too early that there were not yet new ones. he was alone in the universe, no sound but time ticking along. then he met them. two boys, players, one who could not see color right and one with a passion for flame. despite being mortal, they understood him. they gifted him his mask when he revealed his fear of being perceived and and always ran after him despite his speed. he wished to gift them the world. and so he did. he gave them worlds upon worlds to explore and slowly began to improve his craft. sometimes he would bring himself down to the form of a mortal, if only to experience what his friends did. soon, more gods were born, and a few old ones came to great them. there were more players and friends and enemies. he had to keep his friends safe. somewhere where only those he allowed could come in. at last, he had created the perfect world. one where he and his friends could be safe forever, somewhere they could call home. he was rather discontent about the mobs, but he understood that if they were not there, his friends would become bored. they were fighters, after all, born to hold diamond swords and iron shields. he could not take that from them. in the beginning, there were only 8. all of them were friends and knew each other well. and then more people came along. it made the god nervous. more people meant less control and less control meant less safety and less safety meant a higher chance of his friends’ deaths. at first, he decided to leave them be. his friends were capable, after all, he’s known that for a long time. if they required his help, they would let him know. and then they came. the ones who destroyed his friends’ peace, the ones who waged violence on his lands. he could not let this slide. he began watching them closer, monitoring their actions, tried to bring them back under his control, back to safety, back to peace, but they would not listen. they wanted freedom. he did not understand, they were already free. in this perfect world he had created, they could roam wherever they wished, so long as they remained under his watchful gaze to keep them safe. all he wanted was to keep them safe, why did they not understand? well, if they could not understand, then he would force them to. it was all for the sake of safety. the loud one was dangerous, he knew quickly. he was an entity of chaos, a young god, who could not yet control his powers. the worlds he made were abominations, far too unpredictable to be safe. the one he called his brother was the same. a musician, destructive yet charming, a dangerous combination. he had to get rid of the two before it was to late. he wasn’t sure how he never realized the two had connections to the old ones. the elder was the son of the angel of death, the younger was the friend of the god of blood. he knew then that he had to be rid of them. there would be no peace, no safety until the old ones were gone. he tore the musician’s mind apart, till he could no longer trust anyone but him. good. that was one tucked back under his wing. unfortunate how he chose death by his father than the safety and comfort of the place he created to be a home. well, it only served to probe him correct. the younger was more difficult, fighting back often, but after separating him from the others, he became more compliant. the boy’s other half was lost without him, so the god filled that role as well. after all, so long as he was here, everything would be all right. none of it was alright. they had won. the prison he’d made for the one who ruined his plans held him instead. he sat there, a young god, listening to the time tick away, alone once more. but not truly. no longer alone was he, as he had another tucked away in the safety of his wings. one he could trust. one who would help him return his world to safety.

i've watched this so much, it's so GOOD. my favorite detail is when ranboo first appears and you can see he's TERRIFIED, but then his pupils turn into the hands of the clock and you can visibly see the emotion drain out of his face as he enters the enderwalk state. it's such a cool and simple way of conveying him going into that state without having to make it overtly obvious or explain it. great example of show dont tell (even tho there's no dialogue obviously lol)

I could watch this for hours, this is so cool and I love the art and different concepts. I absolutely love the fact that when Dream is 'controlling' or 'influencing' Ranboo their eyes change to match; the animation is so smooth and matches the beat perfectly while conveying a clear story. So I'm going to keep watching it because this is fuckin beautiful.

I haven’t seen an animation focused on Dream’s mental state during his prison arc until now and holy shit I’m so glad I found this!! The visuals, shot composition, and storytelling are immaculate I keep rewatching each cut and frame, it’s amazing! Your art style and designs are really unique and so eye appealing, and god those flashback scenes hit me like a truck, just really well done storyboarding

I absolutely adore the part where ranboo appears and his eyes turn to the clock hands ugh its so good as well as when it shows dream growing up w george and sapnap and the way their colours change as they grow up and the transitions before dream breaks the clock where everything has gone to shit and you can see it flash by super quick until his mask breaks and you've introduced me to a new song which I have on repeat so ty for that

Wow this whole animatic was genuinely one of the most impressive things I’ve ever seen. The music, timing, symbolism was insane. Dream going insane and smiling after the clock still ticks? Wow.That ending scene that implies Ranboo and Dream have teamed up and are against everyone else as they teleport? Chills. Such a phenomenal job.

This fits so well! I love the whole clock theme because of Dream’s clock in prison and how he’s seem to have gone insane with it, you portrayed it so well and I have been abusing the replay button ever since

I really like the attention to detail! like how dreams hair isnt just always short while he was in prison, meaning he hasnt cut in awhile and when dream and tommy were on one of the discs it clashed into tommys exile arc which i find really cool!

Ohh god I just realize the villains also have emotions dream made the server and just trying to make it good it makes sense for dream to take down tommy and kill everyone cause he didnt ask for them to show up(I mean he did but in the script they just show up) he's just making a peaceful server with his friends then tommy just kills everyone I think dream is the main protagonist in the server but yeah

The animation is amazing. Your also symbolizing that Dream is also a person. Even though he has done bad things. Even though Dream didn't escape Prison I love how you identify his plot.

Aghhh, the bit where you draw the young Dream Team- really has me happy for some reason. And the rest of this animation makes me extremeley happy. But you know what doesn't? THE FACT THIS IS SO UNDERRATED! THE HECK?!

I always come back to this, it's just my favorite animation of the dsmp, is the one that introduced me to the fandom, and I have to say that the first impression is the most important and this is the best first impression, of course I turned out to love Dream's character after investigating and realizing that, as the animation suggested, he's a sadistic bastard just as I expected and love him for that

Okay um YES??? This is officially one of my favorite animatics/animations ever!! This is so cool, everything was so smooth!! And the portrayal of Dream losing it even MORE in the prison?? YES PLEASE! Honestly I think Dream’s going to be even worse when he gets out of there, it’s going to be awful. But DUDE the use of Ranboo’s potential abilities to teleport to help Dream escape just... as a Ranboo apologist I am scared, that was all so awesome

I really like this and it shows how Dream lost his mind. Implying he knows something or had something wrong with him the beginning only for it to affect him in a long wrong. Really shows how unhinged Dream was.

This... I have been watching this EVERYDAY the past WEEK. Constantly on my mind it’s so good😭😭👏👏👏 amazing at building up tension and when the hand moved backwards to show the past, the distorted perspective to make Dream appear smaller while focusing more on the clock, how you draw Tommy looking so emotionally tired, how Dream finally snaps and breaks the clock but when he sees that it still works he laughs like a maniac as if berating himself for being unable to destroy a single clock, the way ranboo’s eyes turn into the clock’s hand and falls as if he no longer in control of himself just like a limp puppet. AMAZINGGG😭😭😭🥺YOU’RE SO TALENTED

This is INSANE. I’m obsessed with the way you used every tick as a memory or moment, and kept the theme of the clock continuously ticking despite being broken, time still moving on. The bit with Ranboo’s eyes turning into clocks was INCREDIBLE as well and one of my favorite parts along with Dream growing up with Sapnap and George!!! You’re so criminally underrated it hurts. Everyone states there’s alwase a villain in the story and they chose dream to be.dream was only to protect every thing he new as his world that he once new burned down to ashes he kept fighting for everyone he loved and Everyone one he hated he was hurt dream did not want violence but he would give it people pushed him to his limits making him seem like the villain but was he? Sometimes the villains are just hurt hero’s and the hero’s are just the villains trying to stop themselves from getting out.

Oh. My. Freaking. Goodness. I audibly gasped when I heard the audio because animation memes were my childhood and hearing this just brought me back so hard- and I’ve been brought back to minecraft first by the dream team challenges, then manhunts, and now the smp, and this animation conveys the story so beautifully well. I rewatched this a couple of times and noticed some really cool details... Dream appears to have always felt trapped in his mind, as evidenced by how the animation opens with him and the clock. There’s a journal with “tick tock tick tock” over and over (reference to ranboo’s memory book?). In the next scene, we see him growing up with George and sapnap, where it cuts to him looking a disc and seeming somewhat sad. He appears to be remembering the life he had with his friends. Dream and tommy are shown to spin around on the disc, which is them facing off. The animation cuts to dream getting visibly more and more distressed as the clock ticks on and on. Finally, he smashes it, and his eyes briefly become replaced with clock hands. He laughs maniacally, and then the scene cuts to ranboo visibly distressed with clock hands in his eyes; this means this is the part where dream manipulates him. Ranboo’s eyes go back to normal after dream passes by him (symbolism for ranboo moving on?), and the screen flashes to the text “not free yet.” This could mean a few things: ranboo isn’t truly free from dream’s influence, and/or dream isn’t free of whatever is tormenting him. As ranboo’s face flashes with dream’s mask, we know he isn’t free of him yet. This is confirmed by the next scene, where dream offers ranboo his hand, who takes it, and together they escape dream’s prison. In the next scene, dream looks very happy, relishing in his newfound freedom, and yet the clock still hangs from his belt, meaning whatever cages his mind hasn’t let go just yet. Dream appears to sigh, probably feeling the weight of his past burdens on him. Awesamdude proceeds to discover that dream has gone, where on the wall it says “not a dream.” If I’m correctly assuming, this means something important, though I don’t know what just yet. In the last scene, we see a brief flash of dream’s mask, which he has discarded, and then ranboo and dream looking down on a settlement (I don’t remember the name right now). Dream turns with an odd expression on his face, and appears to intend to walk away. In the last scene, the clock is completely shattered, and the hand is all the way to the right. If I’m correct, this means something has ended. Maybe it’s the current season, or maybe it has something deeper behind it.

Here's my head canon for this one boys, (Its sort of based on the video here btw) Dream's mental state is being represented by the clock, each second with Dream going more and more crazier and with each second, it reminds him of his weaknesses because he got defeated, the mask which was so intimidating for people is now broken revealing nothing but a poor man who is locked in prison. The clock reminds of his past, the times when the mask signified his passion with his friends, growing up and becoming better at his passion (being manhunts and youtube LOL) He gets reminded of what he did to people, Wilbur, technoblade and most of all the disc saga with Tommy, how he got obsessed towards him day by day and his obsession to control and then when the Clock goes further its almost as if it teases him and finally it reminds him of his failures, of how a pitiful man he had become AND that was his breaking point. Once he breaks the clock, he really went insane. Looking back at Ranboo, Dream activates Ranboo's Endermen consciousness and it fully takes over Ranboo almost turning Ranboo into a Mindless Endermen and the mask on Ranboo now signifies Dream's control on him. And thus, Dream takes Ranboo away to plan his next act of chaos.

This is amazing! I love the fact that it was Snapnap and George who drew on the smile of Dream's mask. The fact they grew up together is an adorable concept. The way you depicted the events from Dream's perspective is great, especially the idea of spinning on a disc with Tommy on the other side. The broken clock is a very cool concept and I liked how the pupils of Ranboo's eyes changed to the hands of a clock. Wonderful work on the composition and timings of each frame. Great job on the animation!
