Recorded October 24, 1952 in Berlin.

The variable groove pitch maintains excellent sound on this 4 1/2 minute, 10 inch 78 side. Haefliger's voice was well suited to this aria and he got excellent support from Fricsay and the RIAS orchestra.

Magnificent reproduction quality from this finest of DGG shellac---whay joy---what manufacturing prowess ! A certain resonance/reverb from the recording hall ? Fine tenor and good listening. Very many thanks.

It was recorded at Jesus-Christus-Kirche, Berlin which certainly was revereberent!
