Thank you so much! I just changed out all my bulbs to LED and could not figure out how to get to that third brake light. One google search later and I'm at your video. Could not have been simpler! Once I saw you took the panel off from the top working toward the center it was so easy. Thank you from a 50 year old disabled woman! Yes, I managed it.

Looked at the service manual and it says I need some "special tool" to do it. Just wanted to make sure that "special tool" is nothing but a flat-head screwdriver and you've confirmed my suspicion in this video. Thanks a million :)

I am pretty sure the LED one, is not user replaceable, I think you have to go to the dealer or install a complete new fixture. the LED's are soldered onto the board.

Hi Mitch, I see the two tabs (on the sides), but having trouble releasing them. I stuck a screw driver in - tried straight in, prying to the left/right, and nothing seems to work. Any more advice on this step?

I have a 2012 CR-V with the LED brake light. It is flickering so I suspect it will be failing soon. Does the whole unit have to be replaced?

I am pretty sure it does. cant just swap the bulb on those.

yes - looking for info for the 2014 (4th gen) high mount LED brake light - I think what mitch showed was for the 3rd generation CRV?

This is not particularly helpful for a 2013. You should change your list of years. I would guess yours is valid up to 2012, lots of other links I've found mention that range.
