The "break" Honda took in 1999 was because the ITR didn't sell well in the US. American buyers at the time weren't looking for that raw of a car. The GS-R was the better option at the time. I tried to buy a new 1998. The salesman kept calling me for over 4 months trying to sell it to me. The Internet, particularly car forums and online dealers selling aftermarket parts, and The Fast and the Furious movie changed it all. I have no interest in several JDM cars because of the RHD and KM/h.

Thank you. This video was actually informative. I'll import a JDM at some point for the track

The USDM Integra is what I would buy, they are actually more rarer since there will never be anymore Acura Integra Type R. Only Acura Integra Type S.
@needtau41382 ай бұрын
Also looks better in my opinion. I know it's supposed to be a luxury/sporty civic and you can see that in the headlights of the jdm integra. The twin circle headlights give the front end a whole new look and gives it more personality.

@@barry216 the type RX was the top & final trim level offered for dc2 w/ many these days being "tributes" or collecting the optional accessories individually opposed to being ordered & delivered as an original type RX from verno dealerships they came with unique pedals, the CF trim (blue tint), alarm, stereo, clock, folding mirrors, & choice of interior color (blk/yellow/red) & 16" wheel color (white/gunmetal) w/ Japan getting more type R's than any other country the type RX is the most limited of JDM ITR's produced & if you Google image search there are some awesome catalog images highlighting the options

I'd pick the USDM Acura Integra Type R..... of course. It's more rare in limited numbers, more collectible, more highly prized, more market value, etc etc. JDM Integra Type R still nice, but a dime a dozen.

In Europe the prices have stableised over the past 3 years so you can get a very clean and original one from 12.000,-€ with around 180k/km on the clock. But better spend a bit more (around 15-18k €) to get my the 'best' currently for sale. :) Parts are no problem too. Expect 'bodyparts', all what's metal is at least not to get anymore what is a real issue for restaurating one or even after an excident.

If you get one would you keep it stock is the question. Owning a db8 type r having a hard time leaving it alone.

It's your car do do what you want with it.. I keep mine stock. Have rx version good luck
@Kevin_C97Ай бұрын
My dad passed down his 96 GS-R to me (he's the original owner) and I have been having the same conflicting thoughts on whether to leave it alone or modify it. The more I look at the car, the more I kinda just want to keep it as stock as possibly because like I did want to like put a Type R spoiler and lip on it but I think keeping it mostly stock is the way to go. You hardly see any Integra's completely stock and the clean factory look is just refreshing. Ofc I have my car lowered and some different wheels, but I think body wise, keeping it stock is just refreshing if that makes sense. It is my daily and I do want to track it so stuff like a baffled oil pan and a rear subframe brace and sway bar and other simple mods like that I think are the way to go. Make it fun, keep it simple, and make it last a long time. My car is at 340k miles and counting and still happily revs to 8000rpm. Just my 2 cents.

@lukeskywalker1840 Жыл бұрын
I guess with the USDM and you’re complaining about the lack of creature comforts you missed the point. The engines on these cars were completely hand assembled. The entire body was seam welded. Everything on these cars was designed for one thing, performance. I owned a 1998 ITR. It was just amazing. It was also the only Acura to have five lug hubs, bigger brakes and special exhaust. The body was gutted of all insulation to create more lightness. If you wanted the luxury Acura, this was not the car to buy.
@MITONFILMS Жыл бұрын
They were not all hand assembled. Find me one article by Honda/Acura stating if they were seam welded.

If it has the “H” logo everywhere does that mean it’s not usdm… or what’s the difference with seeing integra with the “A” or “H”
@Nickoboss299 ай бұрын
The "A" logo stands for Acura, which is Honda's performance and "luxurious" brand in the USA.

I don't think anyone in 2023 is considering buying a usdm or jdm ITR for performance reason's lol people pay more usdm integra's because of how much more rare they are as well as the significance they have in our culture here. Not everyone is a jdm fanboy

If you can afford it, yes. Though, any eg/DC with a k swap w/LSD upgrade and updated suspension can be 🤌 for FF. Imo, the problem with Itr in 2023 is that they are slow. The k series fixes this. .
@andydhillon1977 Жыл бұрын
You make good points, but I don't think they apply to all buyers/enthusiasts. There's a large segment of us who can appreciate the ITR for what it is. Many of us take our cars to the track as well. That's where this car shines. We have no interest in changing the car by making major alterations like K-swaps. We would rather buy a Honda that came from the factory with a K engine. If I want a faster car than what an ITR is, I'll just buy a faster car in addition to.owning an ITR. It's special the way it is. One major point I can say applies to me is that at these current prices, it makes appreciating the ITR objectively much harder. From a pure performance standpoint, it's not a $40k+ car. Too much money for what it is....in my opinion. Obviously not to others though. Fantastic car. It's such a shame how so many were stolen and trashed. No matter what though, it will always be hailed as a special car in automotive history.
@MITONFILMS Жыл бұрын
100% agree. Amazing car but the amount people are paying for them is just ridiculous both JDM and USDM models. However what about the 22B . Would you also say the same about that car ?
@barry2164 ай бұрын
You're talking about a car that was made 30 years ago. obviously it's going to be slow compared to the new ones.. so there was no comparison. PS n all you idiots that are putting k-series in your Integra type r's that's exactly what you are diots.. this car is a collectible noun does anybody believe in original anymore
