Great interview! I had decided against the Mito Adapt, but that 810 wavelength in terms of brain health might have sold me. Is it really worth the extra money? Are there brain health benefits with the other Mito wavelengths? I did a little reading and it looks like 850 does in fact penetrate closely behind 810. And THANK YOU for addressing restocking fees. This is, to me, what makes Mito more customer friendly. I've seen the Maysama product positively reviewed by others with red light use. I didn't realize Mito was offering it and will likely get that too. Also really interested in their helmets and will be watching those. Bravo to you 👏🏻 for opening yourself up to feedback from Mito!

This is the first time I've heard or seen anywhere that having 850 and 810 will give you a good amount of 830. I'm sure common sense to those in the field but great info for us new to the RLT space. Would love to hear this expanded on as I don't totally understand the difference between what we are actually getting between Mitopro vs biomax and their different power output to the different spectrums in terms of the 830 and 810

Yeah it's a confusing topic. Generally people think that if there is 850nm light - then that is all - there is no 845nm or anything like that. But the LED's do actually emit a range of light. My reviews from this point forward will show full resolution graphs from my spectrometer reading - so you will clearly see what wavelengths are being emitted. I just purchased the MitoPRO 1500 yesterday and I can't wait to get it! I'm almost 64 😳but my body has ached for 20 years. I have 5 children with my last two (twins) at 40... maybe that's when the body aches started... not sure. I have Hashimoto's Immune Disease (with that comes body aches and hair loss) and Tinnitus (since 2016 or earlier) just to name a few. Nothing is serious, it's just all annoying. I will know if red light therapy works even slightly.... so I can't wait. I loved this interview. I didn't even know that the company doesn't believe in a restocking fee. I'm so happy now that I chose this company when I wasn't really sure where to go. What a smart man Scott is to know how ridiculous a restocking fee is to a customer. Your videos have helped me a lot, Alex (I saved with your discount code too. Thanks!). Anyway, I can't wait for my light. I'll let you know how it works for me. Ooops I didn't mean to write a book here 🤪.

Vielight Nuero has both. 40Hz and 10Hz. 10 Calming and corrective. I had a massive concussion and it was a game changer for me. They asked me not to try the 40Hz until I was fully healed. That setting is for memory and alertness. I can’t wait to try. The positive impact of Vielight led me to use panels and flashlight(torch) for spot treatment. Healed a nagging off and on for 10 (tennis elbow) within days. And just do maintenance once a week. I have Mitorpo panels. The jury is still out and mostly because of trying to figure out dosing. Sleep improvement was immediate with just a few minutes of use. Pain and body aches and hair growth not sure of yet.

55 minutes in he discusses his experience with the red light therapy bed. I find this interesting. I purchased the mitored light mat with the 810 light recently. On day seven I did a ten minute front and back session and felt a similar experience. When I stood up, my body felt a little heavy. My balance was like that of someone who woke up from a deep sleep forced to hop out of the bed to react to something. I wanted to lay down and rest but I had to go somewhere. My daughter drove to our destination and I layed my head back just like someone would do when they were tired in a car ride. I did a workout before the treatment and my muscles were not responding favorably. After the session, my muscles let go and totally relaxed. After this session, the feeling I experienced faded over an hour period of time. The experience helped my muscle spasms to release in my ribs and back. Afterwards I felt awake and refreshed. I laid the mat out from the edge of the ankles up the body covering the front forhead region on both the front and back body ten minute sessions. I covered the sides of the ribs by turning the sides of the mat downward snug against my ribcage making sure the redlight penetrated my intercoastal muscles. I have found that when the intercoastal muscles on the sides are the body get red light, the body relaxes a lot more. My educated guess is that when a person lies down in a red light therapy bed, the light penetrates into the side intercostal muscles in the ribcage. When the intercostal muscles release, the body feels more relaxed. I have felt a similar release in the intercostal muscles when I used my small led hand held device of 18 watts with 3 watt bulbs that can be placed directly against the skin. I use this device on my ribcage for 5 minute sessions. The small device did not give the heavy feeling of wanting to lay back down but it did make me sleep for several hrs in the middle of the day. I went out like a rock and woke up 5 hrs later. After this experience, it makes me wonder if the sleep issue is really all about where the light penetrates within the body the most when either laying down or stainding up. When you lay down, the body has the ability to relax more. When you stand up, we have muscles in the body that are actively holding us up requiring more enegery from the body to do so. I did order the mitored adapt panel and it will ship after Jan 25. I am excited to see what differences or not that I may experience. I purchased the mat to travel with. Since it came in earlier, I have been using it. My small device of 18watts is a 660nm I believe. It does not have the infrared in the device. I have found it to be very effective at 5 minutes with consistant penetration in one spot.

Hey - yeah interesting comment. 99% of my sessions are done standing, but when I do do a session laying done I always feel so much more relaxed. It happened when I was testing the Hooga Pod as well. So there is something going on here. As it's a rapid and quite profound state of relaxation - it's different to me just laying down with no RLT.

Haha either way you're getting a good panel. The key differences are: - Wavelengths, do you want more power going to the wavelengths outside of 660/850 - Physical size - whats more important, height or width - Blue LEDs for acne - do you need it - Control panel - do you want the fancier touch screen or is it not important?

What great questions Alex! Especially asking how we know which wavelengths will work for any particular problem when we can be exposed to different wavelengths when we think we are being exposed to one certain wavelength. For example if we pick 850 nm we could be getting a lot of 830nm so which one is the beneficial one?

This is what we have in the QA on product pages: Q: Some brands have much higher values, is that important? A: No, both for "irradiance" and for "capacity/power, these numbers are not truthful. The first needs a difficult technical explanation but in short. There is a kind of numbers competition between brands and manufacturers and the light experts of the measuring equipment agree with us that the wrong equipment is being used, in fact, that ideal equipment is not yet available because light therapy used to be done with lasers, now with LEDs . Our years of experience ensures the right LEDs with the right dose per session. For the second, the power, we put the "consumption" for the lamps, which is the actual power. This is about 1.5w per LED. Some brands keep pushing a power that is not real, they do this because the chips on which the LEDs can handle more power. A chip can therefore be 5w with a lamp of 100 LEDs, they say 500w! while the actual power is about 1.5 on the LED: 150w. We are done with the high numbers and are happy with the low numbers! Why happy with low values then? Energy is now expensive, so the fact that the LEDs only use 1.5w is advantageous for the operating costs. The 1.5w limit is also there for a reason: burning hours! With this power, the LEDs last 30,000+ burning hours! Some brands even dare to say that these same LEDs last up to 100,000 burning hours. Years of trouble-free fun and no lies about numbers :).

Yes, I’m sure the green tea bags alone would help, but probably not the same…My understanding from interviews I’ve seen with Bev, the founder of Maysama, is that her serum uses green rooibos tea, which is not a classic green tea (green tea comes from Camelia sinensis). Green rooibos tea is made from an African bush, Aspalanthus linearis. There is also a red rooibos but that one does not have the beneficial skin effects, Bev has said. The old green tea bag paper Scott is citing led to the idea for the study he and Bev did in Poland which used her product. Think I got that right. 😉👍

Great interview. In retrospect, it was funny to see Scott's reaction when you asked him about adding different color LEDs to their panels. At the time you were recording this session, I'm guessing they must have commenced development of their Pro X panels with a small number of amber LEDs. His eyes looked off to the corner when he "answered" this question. 😄 I was fascinated with the discussion about using NIR/Red light before exposing to UVB light. Scott noted that he was essentially doing this with the portable mat when on vacation in Mexico. The discussion about NIR frequencies offering the most UV protection was noteworthy. Alex: have you ever experimented with using Red Light Appliances as a precursor to using UVB Light appliances? Have you noted any positive effect on damage/burning for using red light first? If you use UVB lighting, do you deliberately use it for Vitamin D production, or do you supplement to get sufficient Vitamin D3? Thanks.

He said he sees no benefit in pulsed light yet at the same time resells the maysama skincare line. I saw an interview with the CEO of maysama and she said that the pulsed light causes the cells to shrink and expand. She said this causes the cells to essentially respirate more surrounding materials including her products into the cells. This is like a critical part of why her masks pulse red light in the face. I've been trying to get down to the bottom of this and I guess like everything else there's no clear answer.

I try to read all the RLT related information that I can. I can tell you that heat does offset the benefits of red light therapy. As for pulsing, I hate when pulsing is discounted because it is a counter measure due to the heating of the skin and is not necessary with LEDs and that pulsing shouldn't be used because it could be dangerous and cause seizures. I've never seen a proponent of pulsing say anything about being needed for heat dissipation. I've also never seen pulsing recommended for anything other than brain health. Red light manufacturers should either say that their products are not intended for brain health so they are not offering pulsing or offer pulsing and say that it is for brain health. It could really make a difference for people with CTE, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's or age relate cognitive decline. Consumers are trying to find out how to benefit from RLT and if they are given inaccurate information and do not experience benefits from using RLT it will go the way of the dinosaurs.
@LightTherapyInsiders
@LightTherapyInsiders Жыл бұрын
Hey Mark. Thanks for your comment. What is your go-to RLT resource? I'm always on the look out for great places to learn about this amazing tech. Re the heat offsetting the benefits - could you tell me more about this? I'm still trying to wrap my head around it. And does that mean for instance if you used it atfer a sauna session, or a workout, or even on a really hot day then the benefits would be reduced? Pulsing - yes my understanding was that it allows researchers to use much higher powered lasers without surface level thermal buildup (these guys were using lasers that were 1-5 watts/cm2 - 10 to 100x more power than LED panels) . And the other reason was for the brain entrainment effect. I think pulsing has 'exploded' in the RLT scene because it's cheap to incorporate into a panel, and companies want to include as many features as possible to maintain a competitive edge. If it added say $500 to the production cost of a regular panel, I would bet a large amount that we wouldn't see the widespread use/availability of pulsing in the market. Other than in more brain health specific medical devices.

As someone who's been in the sales arena for 50 years, I would offer constructive criticism. On the surface, you want to give many companies in the red-light product space potential customers looking at their respective product lines to choose from. However, that is also a major marketing no-no. The average on-looker, when given too many choices/options, becomes paralyzed with the age-old problem of paralysis of analysis. I know you mean well, wanting people to see what's in the red light therapy marketplace. Unfortunately, when overwhelmed with choices, confusion sets in for many, and sadly, many do nothing, which is a choice. You should research, to the best of your ability, what's available, then present the top three to a maximum of five options. Ultimately, you will draw many more people into this red light therapy space without overwhelming them in the process. Not a sermon, just a suggestion.

Lol. Talking about safety and then selling laser helmets, I don't even know where to start. You can fry your brain with that stuff if you have an imbalance in brain activity. Nobody knows if he has an imbalance if you don't check with a EEG at least. But then complaining about pulsing, lol. You don't have to use it, it is an *option*. Pulses are known to affect brain freqency modes, so why not. I would love to experiment with that. Trying to be scientific and collect data on usage but at the same time forcing the personal opinion (I don't like stobe lights) on the customers. I would buy a panel from them, just because I like the scientific approach and want to support that, but then, without pulsing, because I want to experiment with that, too, is a blocker for me. As a notorious hacker, I see my self buying a cheap alibaba panel and replacing the microcontroller with an ESP32 to get to panel I like ... ;) I'm pretty sure that 80% of the pannels sold are built by handfull of OEM producers out there. When I don't see pictures of production lines with none chinese workers I assume it's chinese like most stuff
