Ohhhh the mitral valve… it has been a thorn for me since I was 14 (now 44) I had rheumatic fever and eventually the regurgitation became severe so I had the valve replaced at 22. At 32 I developed Afib….had 4 catheter ablations to date (2 in 2018, 2019, 2022). At 37 went into heart failure. At 41 had mitral valve replaced and ASD (that I never knew I had) repaired….now getting ready to have surgery to hopefully fix Afib. But thank God the valve is doing good. The heart is soooo fascinating ❤❤

God truly does work in mysterious ways and that's why Dr. Gupta is doing these videos. He probably has his personal reasons but God is using him as a gift for so many people. He's very smart, absorbs information like a sponge, is a great communicator, and a warm and generous heart. There is no way he could NOT utilize himself and lucky for us. I hope God continues to use him and blesses him with a great life with lots of love.

@@EnairraYota I'm doing slightly better. I don't do many physical activities like I used to do. These days, I'm very careful about how much weight I lift or push, since that can expedite or worsen my MVP problem. I used to always put my body under a lot of stress. I used to always push my body to an absolute limit. Especially when it comes to weightlifting, exercising etc. I simply didn't know the impact it could have on my heart over time. The human heart is very fragile. It is possible, because of the intense physical stress, I eventually damaged my heart valve. Another possibility could be it was cov!d that damaged my heart valve and altered my heart's electrical system. Prior to all of this, I had zero pre-existing condition related to my heart. Also, there is zero family history of heart disease.

Dr. Gupta. My husband has been dxd with Mitral Valve regurgitation and has been found to have ruptured chordae tendinae. THey assume from heavy lifting. He has HTN and asthma, and mild ventricular HT, otherwise his heart is very healthy. He is active and very strong. We live in Alaska and his cardiologist recommended we go to the lower 48 for a surgeon who did more of the surgeries. He mentioned the Cleveland Clinic as a good choice. Alaska to Cleveland is a long way, and we really don't want to travel that far. Are there any West Coast hospitals/cardiology specialists that you would recommend?

I recently underwent mitral valve repair. My symptoms were mild, with the primary ones being that my heart would sometimes unexplainably race and had recently had some PVCs. The cardiologist that I had told me it was anxiety as well as others. However, I still felt something was off. I found a second cardiologist who properly diagnosed it. This video has taken so much weight on my shoulder. @@CelestialTrailblazer you probably need to see a cardiologist and request to do another echocardiogram. Have you ever felt and hear your heart like it’s expanding and then explode? I could be sitting down and I can hear my heart beat very loudly. Then I started taking 400 mg of magnesium everyday, and it seems to help the blood flow in my heart. And regular exercise is actually helping me. But I know I need to see a cardiologist to ensure my body is adapting to leaky valve, and it’s not getting worst. Please take good care of yourself. I hope you are taking it easy and listen to your body, and hopefully you get a check up.

The diagnosis isn't always accurate. They may not have seen the full extent of the condition the first time. Or you may have been dehydrated the second time, which would make the condition appear worse. Maybe if you go in again for a check and you're very well hydrated with electrolytes they will see that you're well enough for surgery. Good luck!

What is the condition that triggers AV heart block called? I have a pacemaker due to 3rd degree AV Block. a year later I am told that the PM is pacing only around 1% of the time. I was not supprised by this as I only ever had experianced av block when swolloing food. I would litterly feel my heart stop, followed by a tight feeling, followed by a huge headrush, followed by heavy pumps of the heart then returning to a normal rhythm. All this takes about 5 seconds. and happened many many times before my gp ordered a 24hr ecg that proved what I was saying.... Dr, Have you ever heard of a patiant with the same symtom/link (swollowing food = 3rd degree AV Block)? Thank you! :)

I accidentally damaged my heart by lifting a 90lbs item using my left hand to put inside a car trunk. From then on I have MVP and regurgitation, chest pain, palpitations and shortness of breath. I'm only 27. Been suffering from almost a year. Not sure how long I have until its game over.
