Hi Kennedy I have a similar car and one morning after work it was drizzling but 29°c outside so I let the engine warm for 3 minutes and off to the highway, 2,200 rpm for 6 speed diesel does 110 The check ASC and engine light came on at the same time and limp mode choked my rpm to 1800 max I cleaned the wheel sensors, that stopped check ASC warning, then was stuck with the same 2 P codes as you. Guess what, your solution fixed it. Mine was blocked a needle couldn't go through 👍

A good example of proper diagnosis. A problem where some garages would throw a new map sensor straight in then when problem still occurs, possibly find problem and fix, charging customer for new sensor etc.

As always, good stuff. Like others are saying, most garages would just put the scan tool in, see what the OBD code says and what part the code says that could be causing the issue, replace it to see what happens, if nothing changes, change another part...

I heard someone use the example recently that a scantool is like a compass that just points you in the direction of the fault & that is when your testing procedure starts 😬😬 Thanks Xegro 🙏🙏🙏👍

Hi I got a Mitsubishi Pajero Montero sport 2017 model. I cleaned the intake and egr valve and took it fir a drive on the freeway. I got check engine light abd went on limp mode I am getting below error messages P0106 Baro / map sensor range and C1396 engine torque input refusal I checked the hose abd it’s not blocked , replaced map sensor abd still getting above codes Do you think it could be a Intercooler cracked or leaking intake hose causing this error ? Thanx mate

It could be an intake air leak but verify the MAP sensor is reading correctly first. Simply by looking at live data on the scantool. If it is ok then you will need to smoke test the intake system to verify for leaks 😉👍👍
