Control IS everything. It's going to feel dramtically better after the install. Good tip about greasing the front end. Many people probably don't know that and will be puzzled if it quickly wears out.

I could see doing that as a year end re-cap every year or as a re-cap for each car after they're finally done. I've barely touched the RSX so far, just replaced the intake boot to date. Was planning on getting more parts for it soon...

@@92kbuilds-mn2lk Great idea. This could be something you get the followers thinking about throughout the year and end with the recap. Could also ask the followers their thoughts on how much time and money were spent as a type of a follower contest.

I rebuild the front end on my eclipse. I think it is the same as your but mine is just black... You are definitely fighting more rust than I was but those tie rods were not fun to put in, especially the new boot was a nightmare... If you turn the steering wheel to move the steering system towards you a bit, it makes life so much easier! The rear sway bar links have a little hex wrench spot that you can use to prevent the joint from spinning. Spray the bolts down with pb blaster a few days before attempting the job. Also when getting to the axle on the passenger side, take out the extension piece, it will make things a lot easier. Thank me later! Can't wait to see you fix up yours as well! They're such cool cars!

Good tips and yes, boots were absolute nightmare just because there is no room. I had to cut off every single sway bar link. Sprayed them down but the allen wrench just spun inside the bolt they were so seized. Rust is a real problem in Ohio- I had to knock rust off some of the bolts just to get the socket on them...
@zman-es3ck

Oh god, cutting those things off sucks but it’s one of those situations where you have no choice. You gotta take the eclipse to see the eclipse in April. A good chunk of Ohio is getting a totality view!

We are very close to the edge of that line, but traffic for the event is supposed to be insane so I think we'll just stay home and watch the 99.9% totality of it lol.

@@92kbuilds-mn2lk The car was riding quite stiff, hitting bumps gave a jolt so I'm putting in some 22-way dampening coilovers. I'm gonna be doing all four coilovers but I've never changed suspension on a car. I hope it goes well lol. I would be in the dark about how to do it without videos like this!

Glad to see another Eclipse update, can't wait to see what you think once they're all replaced. I'm telling ya, once you own a 3g the car grows on you. Don't sell it bro I promise you'll miss it and have to try and find another lol.

Oh it handles amazing now, I love it. Yeah I pretty much feel that way about every fun car I've ever had lol, wish I never sold them. The idea is to get this channel big enough one day to build my collection from all pristine cars from the 90's and early 2000's (hence "92KBuilds") and never let them go. This Eclipse is pretty nice on the outside, but the interior is a little rough and the underbody even rougher. Eventually it will be replaced with a better example, but probably sold before then to fund other projects. But for now it remains my daily and even after I'm done building the RSX, it will probably still be my daily. I wouldn't sell any of them if I didn't have to move my money around for other cars...

@@92kbuilds-mn2lk I feel the same way about the 90's/00's cars. If you get a chance to own one, one I really enjoyed was the 7th Gen Celica GT-S. That car just felt really cool to drive, really enjoyed it. Similar to the Scion FR-S I used to have, but better the FR-S beats the hell out of you over ever bump. But the Celica, felt tight and was just a joy to drive. I'd imaging the RSX feels pretty similar to the Celica, but I've never been in an RSX before.

We have an 06 Corolla XRS that has the same engine as the Celica GT-S, have videos of it on my other channel. Hoping to get the Corolla back on the road this year (needs new clutch kit). The Celicas are better because they put out 10 more HP stock, hit lift sooner, weigh less, and handle better. I'll eventually get one but for now it doesn't make a lot of sense because we already have a car with the 2zz engine...

I have an '04 Eclipse Spyder GTS with 62k miles, garage kept, that i bought in July ''23. I am not a mechanic. I hear a squeaking from the front end, nothing feels wrong, just squeak, when i go over a speed bump at low speed. Can i get the front suspension lubricated? Which part is most likely squeaking?
@92kbuilds-mn2lk
@92kbuilds-mn2lk 4 ай бұрын
Could be any of these parts in the video or more. Some shops do a front end lube/grease service that may or may not help, just depends on what it is. There is no one part that it's more likely to be unless I can hear it for myself...

Not on the swaybar links. On the tie rod I don't recall. But bushings can squeek and there is no grease fitting for a rubber bushing- you just have to pack them with grease during install or after the fact spray them with something to get them moving again (or disassemble and grease again).

PB blaster over and over multiple times, over the course of several hours, on both sides and down in the center as well. Can't remember if it's just a bolt or a bolt *and* nut- if it has a nut then remove the nut first, not the bolt. You're going to need a large breaker bar, probably 1/2" drive, and might have to put a cheater bar over it like I had to for the strut bolts (put a metal tube over the bar to extend it and make it longer). Or get an impact gun with enough power to remove it. Sometimes it helps to tap around on it with a hammer (mildly) in between PB Blaster applications to help break the corrosion up and let that PB get deeper in. Overall though that bolt will come out if you apply enough power to it, so I assume you just need a longer handle or more powerful impact to get it off- whichever you are using. Also be careful doing this, but sometimes it helps to rock it back and forth just a millimeter both directions if it will move. Believe it or not, sometimes they won't go forward but they'll go backwards, and in doing so will help loosen them up. Hope this helps, good luck!
