Welcome back to our channel! Today, we encountered a 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander that was brought into our garage in a troubled state. The vehicle was exhibiting symptoms of being in limp mode, struggling to start, and lacking identifiable fault codes due to previous garage interventions. Our task was clear: diagnose the issue, rectify it, and return the vehicle to its owner in top condition.
Diagnosis:
Upon initial assessment, we attempted to retrieve fault codes using diagnostic tools, only to find none due to previous erasure. Resorting to manual methods, we measured DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) pressure using a manometer. Surprisingly, the pressure exceeded 3500 millibars, indicating a significant issue. Further investigation revealed a potential obstruction, possibly within the DPF itself.
Repair Process:
With the experience guiding us, we decided to remove the DPF for thorough cleaning using specialized equipment. As anticipated, the DPF was clogged, hindering proper airflow. After meticulous cleaning, we reinstalled the DPF and rechecked the pressure, finding it still slightly elevated but within acceptable limits.
Additional Complications:
However, our journey didn't end there. A deeper inspection uncovered a secondary DPF section, colloquially known as the mini DPF, which was also obstructed. Upon removal, we discovered internal damage, necessitating replacement. Despite this unforeseen complication, the decision was made to proceed with installing used parts to minimize costs.
Conclusion:
After installing the replacement parts and resetting the warning lights, the Outlander was back to its former self. This successful repair underscores the importance of thorough diagnostics, experienced hands, and a willingness to tackle unforeseen challenges. We're grateful for your support and invite you to stay tuned for more engaging content.
Closing Remarks:
Thank you for joining us on this journey of automotive repair. Your support and engagement are invaluable to us. Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe for more insightful content. Until next time, drive safely, and we'll see you in our next video!
Hello everyone! 👋 Are you someone who loves reaching out to me for questions and conversations? Well, I'm grateful for your interest and support! However, I've noticed an increasing number of calls flooding in every day, and it's getting challenging to balance it all.
On average, I'm receiving more than 5 calls a day, and some days it's even over 10 calls! Sometimes, a single call can take up to 15 minutes or more. Just imagine the number of hours I need to dedicate solely to calls.
Now, here's the deal: I understand the importance of being available to you all, but I also have bills to cover, rent to pay, taxes, and other expenses. So, I need to allocate time for work too.
Starting immediately, I've set aside a specific window for answering your questions and engaging in conversations. You can reach me on weekdays between 17:00 and 18:00 (UK time). However, please note that this time slot is limited.
If you urgently need to reach me outside of this timeframe, don't worry! You can still schedule a call, but I kindly request a donation in return. Your contribution will not only help support my work but also ensure you get the attention you need.
I hope you understand this adjustment. It's all about finding the right balance between serving you and managing my responsibilities. Thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to our interactions during the designated hours. Let's keep the conversations going! 🚀

What's this mini DPF?

The term "mini DPF" likely refers to a smaller version of a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) used in vehicles equipped with diesel engines. A DPF is a component designed to capture and store particulate matter (PM) from the exhaust gases of a diesel engine, thereby reducing emissions of harmful pollutants into the atmosphere. In the context of a Mitsubishi Outlander, if it's equipped with a diesel engine, it may have a DPF installed to comply with emissions regulations. The "mini" designation could imply a smaller size or perhaps a different design approach to fit within the space constraints of the vehicle. It's worth noting that DPFs require periodic maintenance to function properly. If not maintained correctly, they can become clogged, leading to reduced engine performance and potential mechanical issues. Therefore, it's important for owners of vehicles equipped with DPFs to follow the manufacturer's recommendations for maintenance and service intervals.
