You legend! Was just quoted R2100 for the front pads alone, bought some Bosch pads for R600 and will fit them myself. I'd better check the rear pads too, the jury's out on whether I'll tackle those, I'm guessing you kept the swearing in check for the video, while doing those!

Thanks for this video mate. Your clear instructions made the process so easy. Can I add 1 thing though? If your drums are stuck on and can’t be wiggled off by hand, there’s 2 threaded holes that you can used to put bolts in and pop the drum off.

Thanks for this. I just did both front and rear brakes on my 2018 Triton. Drum brakes are fiddly had your clip playing as I was doing it. Great instructions. Any chance of a serpentine and alternator belt replacement 😊

Can you make a video for adjust the hand brake!?
@mathewfoley15319 ай бұрын
Only problem with pushing piston back is old oil going back up the line with crap in it better to undo bleeder nipple and push back and suck old brake fluid out of master cylinder and put new fluid through system
@toddc5451 Жыл бұрын
Do you have to remove the cap on the brake reservoir before pushing in the brake piston?
@driftcarsjp Жыл бұрын
No

Great video, thanks for sharing. Q. Did you have to top up the brake fluid once the job was complete? My brake pedal is very spongy. It builds pressure, but then fades away. Can you help? Cheers Adam
@driftcarsjp6 ай бұрын
Hi have you adjusted the brake shoes enough? Is the handbrake tight or come up a long way before locking on the brakes?
@adamcawthorne6 ай бұрын
@@driftcarsjp All good, I’ve sorted it. Just needed to top up the fluid, and bleed the lines abit 👍🏽.

@junetijam16702 жыл бұрын
how many turns you adjust the break adjuster?
@driftcarsjp2 жыл бұрын
Until it locks up the brakes. You won't be able to turn it any more then you back off about 2 turns.

Would you mind running through a alternator belt replacement I can’t work out how to release the tension with the tensioner
@angusfindlater2 жыл бұрын
Look inside the left hand side wheel guard and remove flimsy rubber skirt/flap and you can see an adjuster to slacken off. First you need to loosen the tensioner pulley center nut on face of pulley or the adjuster bolt will not move and the thread on the adjuster nut will get damaged. Take note of the belt route too.
@craigmountain51002 жыл бұрын
@@angusfindlater hi yes i think ive sussed it. Remove the first belt like you say then a 14 mm spanner on the tensioner on the second belt and with a bar turn the bolt in the middle of the tensioner wheel anticlockwise and the belt becomes loose. Am i right?
@craigmountain51002 жыл бұрын
@@angusfindlater to remove the fan belt
@angusfindlater2 жыл бұрын
@@craigmountain5100 yes. Cant remember which way to crank the main belt tensioner as i was under the vehicle. It only goes one way though. One more thing.... use locktite on the second belt pulley nut once you have retensioned. I found mine became loose again after a while
@craigmountain51002 жыл бұрын
@@angusfindlater thanks findlater, it doesnt feel right turning the nut anti clockwise almost as if you will unscrew the nut before loosening the tension but as you say it will only go one way. I havent actually gone as far as removing it but the belt goes slack so i think thats it

Why does triton do their brakes like this very old design new cars use disc brake.
