Keep in mind that the company is run by a two-brother team so your order may take a little time to get packaged up to ship, but they are also very nice so you may want to drop them a note (like I did) if it is taking longer than you thought :)

This is such a cool idea. It has not occurred to me to mix inks, but these turned out amazing! Oh yeah i am in love with those peoples that you got, also those greens with ceramic kiln look sooo good! This was so interesting to watch.

It is really fun, the only problem is that I will probably get more bottles/colors from them and then the mix combos will expand exponentially 😂 I am not sure if I will do the preliminary detailed mix grid each time, but I may just do some freehand mixes like the second and third rounds that I did :) Endless possibilities 🤓

These turned out so fun! And I agree with you 100% on decanting from the big bottles into sample vials, I did the same thing immediately. It'll help prevent things from growing in it too

Mixing is the funnest part! I find with watercolors, mixing them on the paper makes you actually do art more as you are doing it at the same time as painting!

Totally agree on the messy hands, it is the mark of creative exploration - I actually shot the tips footage before I had totally completed the mixing, you can see in the video that my hands actually got way more messy during the final mixes as a bunch of ink got on the outside of the syringes from being in the vials 🤣

And I’m back 😂 ok so I’ve fallen down the Mixing-BPC-Inks rabbit hole and I’ve noticed something regarding the dilution solution. (I realize this video is old and things might have changed since, and also you likely know most of this already, but) I’ve been reading through the ink recipes that they have on each ink’s (that’s mixed from their Atominks element line) page. I noticed that the Phoenix colour (which is a yellow that shades a bit to orange) the recipe is marked as “1 part tiger lily + 3 parts dilution solution” so that seems like pretty explicit authorization to put a much larger ratio than 30%! A little odd that they say to only mix in 30% solution but provide us with recipes that include 75% solution 😅

🤓 Ooooo! I did not sleuth that out yet!! I am going to have to go play a little more, I mean the worst that I can imagine is that the longevity of the writing done with ink may be compromised - I doubt that it would do damage to a pen .... hmmmm, very interesting, thanks so much for sharing!! 💜

I am curious as to what PAPER YOU ARE USING to make your tests/swabs...and where you get your vial holder + fancy syringes...I am a bit late to the party...so I don't expect you to see this comment...thank you for your amazing experiment...so scientifically done...to boot!...Janis
