It was by far the worst scene of the entire season. It ruined rhenys. Made her a person who will wipe out the peasants but not the ppl who threatened her. Now no more dragon pit so the show is now in uncharted territory

For the most part, these visions were often hyperbole such as dragons often meaning Targaryens which the dreamers seemed very slow to catch on to. Outside of B&C, there’s nothing that could make people switch sides. Even then, it’s an act only committed by Daemon. One could argue that the atrocities committed by Aemond would overshadow that. It’s more likely for people to come to hate both sides rather than side with the greens.

And in the book, while the greens do try negociation with Rhaenyra, they were way more determined to take the throne no matter what (alicent bore no love whatsoever for her and her children, cole despise her bastards...), so when Beesbury opposed them i guess killing him seemed justified for all green members + the way he died is not certain in the book, there were speculation he died in his cell from a cold (so not by cole)

He always recommended keeping Daemon as far away from Viserys as possible under the guise of Daemon being a rogue that would undermine the throne. In reality, he knew as cruel and disgusting as Daemon is, he will protect his brother to the end. When Daemon stole the dragon egg, he only wanted his brother’s attention, Otto convinced Viserys it was too dangerous to go to retrieve the egg; Rhaenyra came and retrieved the egg without issue. In addition, Otto recommended Rhaenyra be claimed heir to remove Daemon off the board, he knew that it was more likely the realm would not accept a female ruler and sent his daughter to seduce the king. (That was not innocent) When Viserys was contemplating marrying Laena Veleryon, Otto finessed him into refusing this marriage knowing how lonely he was after Aemma’s death; he calculated he would fall for Allicent and should she produce a son, he would have his blood on the throne. This was for selfish reasons not the good of the realm. You may see it differently and convince me otherwise. I welcome the discussion. By the way I am neither team green or team black just a viewer that enjoys the series based on the most petty war in Westeros.

Otto was entirely right about Daemon, he's a cruel, dangerous, unpredictable person who should be as far away as possible from the throne. He wanted his daughter to marry the king for the betterment of his family? So? Rhaenys and Corlys wanted the exact same thing, Otto just succeeded where they failed. Like any second son he has a responsibility to try to help his house any way he can and that is often done through marriage pacts and Alicent turned out to be a great queen, ruling in Viserys's stead when he became too weak and sick.

One additional thing, milk of the poppy prevents healing and he ensured Viserys drank lots of it.
