Musahi, was a beast ! He defeated the (Demon of the western province) with a paddle he carved into a sword .. Who at the time was the greatest swordsman known... He carved the paddle on the boat ride to the island that he was supposed to fight this man.... Their is a statue on the island depicting the famous fight ...

If I'm not mistaken he also left the guy waiting too, before showing up to challenge him with a wood carved sword. Musashi was a mental warfare jedi taking the dude out of his prompt formal norm then making him wonder wtf with the wood sword which he killed him with. It was the Dual of Ganryu Island

Thank you very much, your video was very insightful. I feel that most of us “lone wolfs” can relate with Musashis’ wisdom. Especially in the world were most people have everything so easy and handed to them. Most also fall in the sheep mentality to be accepted by everyone-regardless if they have to be fake to themselves.

I haphazardly walked into the teachings of Musashi after buying a beautiful Japanese Sukajan jacket Embroidered with Musashi riding a tiger 🐅, , I then googled him afterwards and found about his impressive life story, battles and strategies. I have listened to 5 rings and now your video while driving to and from work. I feel like a lone wolf for some time now as I walk in my own path void of ANY social media with the exception of my KZfaq and soundcloud for my music. I personally agree with your reiterating of this book and how it applies to our current society. Well done. I have a true affinity for Japanese culture as well including the 4 Japanese cars in my driveway hahaha.. will be listening to this again. Thanks

the true way is to be yourself and to listen to your own heart and to live your life the way you feel is best we can learn from others but it is best to do what we feel is right many try to tell us how we "should" be.. even musashi could be seen as the nitpicker who is conplaining at length about how we "should" be and telling us how to live be you be you

I needed this like a man dying for the elixir of health. Men, easily loose not our way,but our perceptions. THEY get warped, perverted. Till sick perceptions are who we have become. This will adjust faulty thinking patterns. EPICTETUS identical in the sense of only focusing on that in one's power rather than what's beyond.

Definitely have some facts wrong, but you got Moxy kid. He was a weapon master and moved away from the two swords technique he was famous for as he aged. His favorite weapon was actually a short halberd. He fought in wars and there is a story that he held a bridge and killed almost 200 men by himself. He was also a master strategist. And he may have won 60 plus duels against notable samurai.... But He fought in hundreds of duels with different warriors over his lifetime. And yes he did kill a man with a boat oar. But he carved it before he arrived at his duel so that it was just a long wooden sword.

Musashi is a great find..Not so much our comments. With most males being cucked nowadays... the search and path of self-reliance becomes a gem. Peak SMV for females is in her early 20s... Some males pursue post wall females.... never be jealous is something to not dwell on. Never be jealous of males pursuing females in their early 20s - Nature. Tks for listening. I read tons of books so I don't expect most to be at my level. I can only blaze the path. GL.

ok, i listened to about 40min worth ... wow! so, first, yours is an 'opinion', an uninformed opinion, and like everyone else, they have opinions too. i have lived in japan late 60's early 70's ... i think you would be best to try that ... for a couple years ... way way outside cities, in the sticks. go hang with the 'peeps' that don't speak english, work it out, see if you get invited to peoples homes ... THEN you will see the real japanese and a glimpse at the 'foundation' of their former 'glory'(my opinion!). you took a youthful stab at something that is more complicated than kabuki theater. these were a people who sold their soul/heritage down the drain, to get what they considered 'out from under samurai class, with the meiji reformation period and the abolishment of the samurai class. then with ww2, they were thrust swords into the hands of 'shopkeepers(etc)' and were read/verbally drummed into their heads, rhetoric that was not part of their soul(anything other than samurai), and thus, 'inauthentic', both in its perceptions and how 'bushido' was dealt out on the battlefield and in the POW camps. they were confused with a mode of operation that was, for them, 'contrived' ... 'they', for the most part, still are confused. few have the objectivity and commitment to action that lived up to 150+ yrs ago. after 'your' tour of japan id suggest maybe thailand, laos, cambodia and or indonesia for a couple years. again way outside cities ... out in the 'boonies'/weeds, just for some 'grounding'. bring 'the 5 rings' and read it. not to believe it, rather to let what goes in in ... remember tho, its not about belief of someone else's words, its how those words interact with YOUR soul(not your ego!). my dad was a marine aviator in the pacific in ww2 ... i heard his opinions, o boy!
