Of course Kobe is the better scorer and in fact one of the best in NBA history but offense is also playmaking, rolling to the rim, setting good picks, off-ball movement, gravity etc. For me, Lebron is the better overall player, because although he isn't as good as Kobe at scoring the ball, he does so much more things offensively. Anyways, both legendary in their own way

Totally. I think all players would have trouble picking a player from their own era as ‘goat’. Mainly because they have personal experience playing against them. Defending them, bodying up against them etc. And the particularly good ones (like Kawhi) HAVE to believe that they’re at least AS good as their counterparts otherwise they’ll get eaten alive out on the court. Imagine a boxer thinking the guy across from them isn’t beatable? In hindsight, their opinion might change, but while they share the court- of course LBJ is mortal in Kawhi’s eyes. He’s seen LBJ miss plenty of shots. He would’ve seen him have slow days at practice. He would’ve seen him on court make a few bad passes etc. He would’ve beaten him a few times over the years.
